At 9, I was at the club waiting for Brendon. I was in costume so I had an alibi for everyone else in the club but little did they know I was running off with one of the club regulars.

I sat at the bar with one leg crossed over the other and drinking moonshine. There was only a small buzz I was getting from the strong sips. I grimaced as it went down my throat.

Suddenly I felt Brendon's presence for he put a hand on my shoulder.

"We gotta leave - now." Brendon said, grabbing my wrist and starting to pull me.

"Wait I gotta grab my bag," I began to walk in the other direction. While his grip was still on my wrist, he painfully tugged me back to him and I crashed into his chest.

"Now!" He commanded. I gulped and then I heard a gunshot and yelling. We both turned and saw police storming the club and everyone's biggest fears were realized. We were caught. The bullet was a warning shot.

"EVERYONE DOWN!" A cop yelled and put his gun in the air.

"Shit!" Brendon yelled throughout the chaos. "We're leaving!" He pulled me by the wrist and began running, me almost tumbling over my feet behind him.

"Bre-" I began to call out but he turned and slapped a hand over my mouth. "Don't say my name out loud."

In fear, I nodded and Brendon and I were back to running. "Is there a back way out?" He shouted to me.

"Yeah! Through the kitchen back there!" I had to yell back quickly while Brendon pulled us through the swarm of people fighting off cops or screaming like children.

Brendon and I burst through the doors to the kitchen and found it empty. Everyone in here must have skipped out once they heard the scuffle out front.

Out on the street, rain way coming down heavily.

"Ryan is in a car a block away," he said quickly. "You need to act normal, okay? Don't give us away."

I nervously nodded. "Yes," I mustered out of breath.

Brendon and I slowed our pace to a casual walk. His eyes were wandering all over the cobblestone streets for any sign of trouble that could be waiting for us.

"Be careful," he whispered and had his hand on the small of my back to keep me going. I was trying to regulate my heavy breathing and my legs were shaking. There was a part in me that felt guilty for leaving everyone behind. What happened to Sarah? Calvin?
