Chapter 4 - Concerts and Embarasing Mom

Ariana's POV


The bus parked at the back of the building. I jumped out of my seat excited for the concert. I stepped out of the tour bus after everyone else and felt a hand wrap around mine I looked to my left and saw Nathan's smiling face. I felt my face heat up and smiled back I knew I was blushing. We must have been staring at each other for awhile because I heard Frankie cough and say,


"Hurry up! Stop staring at each other and get in here."


We walked through the door hand in hand. We walked through the hallways backstage and walked onto the stage. I looked out at the long room from centre stage and smiled to myself. I'm so excited!


2 hours later


"Start the show, start the show, start the show!" I heard the fans chant.


I signalled the security guard telling him I was ready. I heard the music for 'Baby I' start. I took a deep breath and looked to my right to see Nathan staring at me. He winked at me and said "See you out there."


I ran on stage singing the first verse of Baby I.


I had already sang quite a few songs and it was time for the best part of the show, getting to sing with Nathan.


"I recorded this next song with one of my good friends, Nathan Sykes. Unfortunately he can't be here tonight so I'm going to do an acoustic version." I said.


The music started and I sang the verse and chorus. I looked to my right and saw Nathan quickly walking onstage. The fans screams got even louder, I didn't think that was possible. As we were singing he stared into my eyes I could feel my cheeks heat up. I quickly looked into the audience. We were nearing the end of the song. I felt Nathan's hand grab mine and pull me to look at him.


We stared into each other's eyes for the last part of the song. The music ended and Nathan pulled me into a tight hug.


"You were amazing." He whispered in my ear.


I smiled and turned to the fans, "Give it up for Nathan Sykes!"


He looked at me and smiled, "Ariana Grande everyone!"




Nathan's POV


I watched as Ariana danced along to one of her songs. She's the cutest girl ever. We had just finished singing 'Almost is Never Enough' we were pretty good. She was so adorable, when we locked eyes she started to blush. I want her to be mine so bad but I know she's going through a hard time but I don't want her to think of me as just a friend anymore.


2 hours later


Ariana finished the meet and greet so we can finally go back to the hotel. I saw Ariana and Isaac laughing together so I went an joined them. We all walked out to the tour bus together laughing at how ridiculous Isaac's face looked. Ariana and I sat together on the bus holding hands. It's weird we kinda act like a couple but are just really good friends.


Ariana's mom, Joan started acting really weird and when I say weird I mean insane.


"I'm preaching today, I want somebody to testify." She said.


Everyone yelled at the same time so it sounded like, 'Oh testify' with a bunch of other words mixed in.


"Testify your sins brother Jones, testify your sins!" she continued.


By this time everyone was laughing, Ariana was video taping and me I was eating a banana.


Ariana leaned over and whispered, "She's gone crazy don't pay any attention to her."


I could tell she was trying not to burst out laughing meanwhile I was just sitting there trying not to stare at her for to long. I wish I could tell her how I feel. Maybe we could be together, have the perfect relationship she deserves. Maybe someday, someday soon.
