Time was impossible to tell as he sat, leaning against the wall, eyes closed.
But he judged it to be about four later when the sound of footsteps sounded, then words exchanged in hushed German.
Whatever the newcomer had said, it convinced the guard to leave as a heavier set of feet walked away.
A click sounded before the steel door opened just wide enough for her to slip through. The door closed behind her causing the dim light to flicker above.
She didn't speak, waiting for him.
He opened his eyes to meet her gaze. "How much of it was lies?" He asked tiredly.
Taken back, Clarissa looked sad. "Just my last name. The rest is true, Bucky. Please believe me."
The glare directed at her was full of unforgivingness.
She flinched as if struck physically but then sat across from him, back against the other wall. Six feet away.
"I don't blame you." She said. "After everything I've done.. I'd hate my self too."
"Then why did you do it?"
She looked grimly amused. "My father has his ways to get something done." She paused. "And since I'm his heir I have to be the daughter that will kill for evil, die for evil, sacrifice for evil. And I've never been able too. Why do you think I was gone that month? Cause it certainly wasn't a vacation."
His gaze flicked to the bruises that were fading on her neck. "What caused it?"
Her eyes begged him to see she was telling the truth. "Sympathizing with the enemy. Loving you."
Starting, the Winter Soldier was taken back. "You love me?" He repeated dumbly.
"Yes." She said certainly. "That's why I'm planning to get you out."
Clarissa got to her feet, and he copied her movements. "How?"
"I'm going to make a distraction, and you run for it."
"I'm not leaving you." His tone was firm.
Clarissa gave a shaky smile. "Can't you understand I'm trying to save you?"
"I got saved a while back when I met you." He whispered before pulling her in.
He was conscious of how soft her lips were. Conscious of how her hair slipped like water through his fingers. Conscious of how beautiful she was and how they completed each other as their breaths mingled.
He drew back first, planting a kiss on her forehead. "I love you Clarissa and I'll be with you till the end of the line."
