—— Sans' Pov ——

I hid in the darkness for hours, listening to my brother look for me. Gaster teleported next to me and sat down too. "Torturing yourself?" He asked, his head tilting.

"I guess.." I respond, voice faltering slightly. He wrapped an arm around my shoulder and held me close to him. "What got you so worked up?" The larger skeleton asked. I glanced up at him and sighed. "I don't like anyone touching Papyrus like that.."

He smiled gently. "Of course, nobody likes their loved ones being harassed like that. But seriously, go yell for your brother. He needs you. Okay?" I scoffed. "Need ME? You've got to be kidding! My brother HATES me!" Gaster sighed. "I never tell anybody this, but this was just a test to see how much you guys love each other. The fact he's panicking and running around yelling your name is enough proof to me. He also tried to protect you knowing I could overpower him. And that's enough proof to me." He said, rubbing circles into my spine. Tears welded up in my eye sockets.

"B-BOSS!!" I yelled out, getting up, and running to the bars. I heard footsteps echo throughout the dark laboratory and Papyrus soon ran up to the gates. " Sans..." He whispered, fishing his hand through the bars, and cupping my cheek. "Boss? Are you okay?" I asked, looking up at him. He blinked and removed his hand, backing away. "Sans..." He said in a colder tone. "Papy?.." I asked, my body slightly trembling.

"Don't call me that, you son of a bitch!" He yelled and I backed up. "Gaster what happened?" I whispered, hiding in the darkness with him. "I've been detecting life magic.. It's probably taking a hold on his soul.''

"What does that mean?" I asked quietly, leaning onto the other skeleton. "Life magic, also known as black magic, will corrupt or destroy someone's soul. In other words, Pap will most likely go insane or die." He stated calmly. "It's almost like what happens with determination. Except it's more physical than life." I felt tears weld up in my eye sockets. "Papyrus can die?!" I asked/yelled.

Gaster nodded. "He has a red soul. Red is the color of death, according to the Egyptians." He said. Crimson tears danced down my cheeks in a graceful manner.

      "Papyrus.. C-Can't die!!"
