We came to the intersection of paths leading to my cabin and all of the guys. I saw the two boys from cabin 3 staring at me and Jarod. I looked away from them still holding Jarod's hand. We all walked down to the arena, we all made small talk... except for me. When we got there the Head of Camp handed out paint ball guns and told us some of the rules. I stayed next to Jarod, he understood and held my hand. I would look up at him on occasion, catching him looking over at the two boys (I would figure out their names soon enough) they wouldn't go unnoticed for what they did. When we arrived at the paint ball area, Jarod let go of my hand still standing next to me, I looked up and he whispered.
"I just don't want to raise any concerns." He said smiling softly, his cheeks were a bright red not necessarily because he was blushing but because it was so hot out and we just walked about half a mile. My cheeks were probably just as red if not more because I was blushing underneath it all. The head of camp picked a leader from each cabin, calling them forward then looked over at me. I instantly knew what he meant and solemnly walked forward standing next to the three boys who were all gawking at me. The three boys were assigned their cabin and all of the group leaders (Including myself) were given a black bandana, to indicate a Team Captain. We were all assigned starting points on various ends of the camp and just before we were sent out to our starting points the Head of Camp called out.
"The team that wins gets a grand prize of picking someone to come to their cabin or to move someone out." He said proudly, he then looked over at me looking as if I couldn't win. I probably couldn't but I would sure as hell try not wanting to be alone all summer, even if I was with a bunch of filthy boys.
(Sorry it's so short, I am having a bad case of writers block..)
