Her sigh was all that could be heard inside the silent room. Her eyes as dead as the man she stared at that laid a few feet from her. She knelt down on one knee to pick up the dismembered head and place it on the table. His eyes wide open, mouth slightly ajar and a petrified expression. It was the perfect reaction for a body-less head that just saw his murder.
Grabbing a pen, she wrote on a paper with the man's blood:
Happy Anniversary, Hun❣
I hope you like my present xx
After writing, she turned to leave through the balcony, but not before deciding to finally speak up. "Next time, can you please find someone else for this kind of dirty job?" Her voice was cold and distant.
"Fu~" The woman seating at the edge of the bed laughed. She tipped back her glass before speaking. "There's no better person to do this dirty job other than you, dear." She played with the glass, watching the wine spin in circles. "Besides, you have helped me with these men for such a long time now." A wicked smile spread across her lips. "Which makes you just as guilty as I am for murder."
The girl clenched her jaw. "You're insane. Killing innocent men for years. Haven't you had enough fun yet?" She asked, disgust evident in her voice.
"Au contraire." The woman stood up, grabbing her dagger from the table. "It's you who killed them. I was simply a distraction." She held the dagger to the younger girl's throat. "Don't you remember?" She crooned, intending on making the girl submit to her words. "All the guy's whom you've thrust your blade at? All the blood that you've splattered across their room? The color that you love so much tainting your pale skin?" She dragged the tip of the blade down the side of the younger girl's face.
A lump formed in the girl's throat as memories flashed through her eyes. The nostalgic scent of iron filling her nostrils. The warm feeling of blood trickling down her face. The red that she loved staining her leather clothes. Just remembering it all made her want to vomit. "Please refrain from having to rely on me always." The girl mumbled before jumping off the balcony.
I couldn't say anything. Tears stung her eyes as she jumped from rooftops to rooftops. I can't do anything against her. She's right. I'm nothing but a murderer. Tears finally fell down her face as she landed on her own balcony.
"I hate myself." She whispered, looking down at her black leather boots. She shook her head while grabbing at her hair in frustration. Warm tears landed on the dry floor of her balcony. Her thoughts were once again haunted by the agonizing voices of her victims. She quickly ran inside her room and locked everything. After locking the door, she slid down the wall in a sobbing fit.
"Stop..." she cried. "I couldn't do anything!" She grabbed her head in an attempt to cool it and free it from the voices that haunted her every night. She looked up with a blurred vision. "Please... Stop... Someone... Please anyone, someone, help me!" She shouted, her voice cracking at the end. "Dad... where are you...?" She tucked her knees in and buried her head between her arms. "Dad... I need you." Her whisper was heard by no one as the deafening silence swallowed her into an abyss.
A girl at the age of five ran to her father in a hurry while holding a rose. "Dad! I found a rose!" The girl eagerly showed her father the rose. "And it's my favorite color!"
"My, how beautiful." The father crouched and picked her daughter up. "And do you know that you look just as beautiful as this rose is?" He asked, tucking the rose behind her ear. She released a small giggle. Her father, finding her smile contagious, smiled, too.
