Chapter 8 // The soccer player

Danielle

"Yeonhee, do you want to race?" Taeyong asked cheerfully as we make our way in the lakefront.

"One, two, three!" We both ran fast after I counted, earning weird looks from the students at the corridor.

"Hey! Where are you guys going?!" We heard Ten shouted from behind, and we both laughed, as we continue to sprint towards the spot.

I ran as fast as my feet could, not wanting to lose at our game.

Even though I always tripped on the floor, I managed to looked at the ground to avoid any accident.

"Fighting!" Taeyong yelled that made me looked up to him, and I grinned as I raised my fist.

The view of the lakefront catches my eyes, as I darted towards it. I tugged some of my hair strands behind my ear to avoid getting distracted,

But unfortunately,

Thug!

I felt dizzy as blurriness flashed before my eyes when I fell harshly in the ground. I stumbled and fell when I stepped on a medium sized rock and my legs were stiff.

"Ow!" I yelped as I tried to stand up, looking at the students who were laughing and murmuring some incoherent words infront of me.

"Yeonhee!" Taeyong hurriedly dashed towards me, and helped me to stand up. I shrieked when I put pressure in my left foot that made Taeyong flinched.

"Are you okay? I'm sorry, I shouldn't have--"

"No, it's okay. I'm fine. My legs were just... painful," I reassuringly smiled and held his shoulder for support, as we start to walk in the bridge.

I never felt this painful in my legs. Oh my gosh, I think my bones were broken.

I rolled my eyes at the silly thought, and Taeyong gave me a worried look.

He put his hand around my waist as we both sat down in the grass.

"Ouch!" I held my legs tightly and Taeyong shrink in his spot.

"What happened?" Yuta asked in nonchalant voice and I rolled my eyes. He sat down on the grass beside Taeyong, while spinning a bottle.

I think he forgot our conversation earlier, he was acting cold again earlier. I was very confused at his attitude. He gets cold with me infront of our friends--but when it's just the two us he was cheerful and adorable.

What does this mean?

"Yeonhee fell a while ago when we were racing," Taeyong responded, scratching the back of his neck.

"Oh. Are you okay now?" Narin worriedly asked and I nodded.

"Yeah, don't worry"

"You shouldn't have race with her, she's clumsy," Yuta scolded, glaring at him. Hansol held his shoulder to drop his deed, but Yuta shook it off.

"Sorry, I.. I didn't know" Taeyong replied looking down.

How dare Yuta make Taeyong upset? This boy. Now I feel bad for him. Ughh.

I can't utter a word, so I just listen at them. The guys and Narin showed worried look, and I smiled reassuringly.

"You didn't know?" Yuta snorted. "You're always with her, am I right?" He rolled his eyes and Taeyong stared at Yuta in disbelief.

My cheeks flushed red as I saw their staring contest, but not cold.

"How did you know?" Taeyong knotted his forehead in curiousity and I saw Yuta gulped.
