I turned to David, whispering, "oh my god. What if he picks me?"

David gave me a strange look. "You're in training. He can't."

I blinked. "Oh. Phew." Relief changed to worry. "Still, someone has to go."

He shook his head. "It sucks. Everything about this place sucks." He whispered so low I could barely hear. I looked over at Jamey to see if he heard. His attention was being fought for by Ava, but his eyes were on David. His eyes frosted over, his head cocked, a slight, cold smile on his face.

I stood up, taking my plate to the kitchen without a word.

For the most of the morning, David simply taught me what I would be doing in my job as a "hotel employee". Lunch was simply a sandwich before David and I went down to B121. David went and did something, not telling me what, as I walked in. I was greeted by Bella with a hug, before she hurried me into a chair to assess how I should be styled.

"Well, lets see. Good to see you straightened your hair, keep doing that. I might give you contacts... nah, blue eyes are good....." she started running around grabbing things, in the end enhancing the blonde, giving me a fake tan, and painting my nails sky blue. As she was, I asked her the question I had wanted to ask her for a while.

"So what's up with you and David?"

Bella looked shocked at the question. "What do you mean? I'm with Ethan."

"Oh. I've never met him. I was just wondering, because I noticed some flirting. But maybe I was reading too much into things."

Bella looked taken aback. "I didn't know it looked that way."

"I'm sorry."

She shook her head, the smile returning. "Don't worry about it. It's fine."

David hadn't yet returned, so after Bella gave me my new clothes, she showed me the way to Sienna's office, B251. On the way, I asked her where David was.

"I think he's got to help with something," was all she said.

Sienna simply asked if I had any allergies, dieseases or problems and checked for anything out of place, like a normal doctor checkup. David came in while Sienna was checking my breathing, so I just waved and waited to talk to him until it was over.

As we walked back to B122, where the photography room was, I asked him where he went. He kind of dodged the question, saying it wasn't important.

"C'mon, you can tell me!" I poked his arm, trying to get an answer.

He sighed. "I had to help with the... VIP, okay? I just hate those situations. Its what really makes me hate this place."

I didn't know how to respond. "I'm growing to realise how bad this place is," I said, my voice low.

"You're lucky," he said, stopping, leaning towards me. "You have it easier than most, even now."

"Well, I'm here if you need to talk."

He was leaning very close to my face, scarily close....
