The Truth Is | Harry Styles

Mia Wright sat on her bed with her legs crossed scrolling on through a website on her computer. School was the least of her worries right now, considering she didn't have money to further her studies.

Her parents left her with her Auntie Caroline when she was fifteen and moved away to America to live with her elder half-brother Martin. Her parents left him in America when she was five. She's never seen or heard of him ever since then.

She did miss him though.

There was always one thing they both used to obsess over, and that was their love for art. Mia was actually extremely talented when it came to art, even as a little child, but ever since Martin left she found it hard for her love to expand.

Living with her Auntie was a total nightmare, considering that Caroline had four kids of her own, which were younger than Mia was. They literally drove her up the wall. There was only one kid that wasn't too bad, and that was Caroline's eldest daughter May, who was fifteen.

Last year when she finished with school, the first thing on her mind was looking for an apartment and leaving Caroline's house. It was pretty clear she wasn't wanted there actually. When she found an apartment Caroline practically packed everything for her and drove her to the apartment as quick as she could.

She should be grateful at least, Mia always thought to herself. She always did the cooking, the cleaning and worst of all...looking after the little nightmares. She had to admit, as much as she loved kids, Caroline's children made her dread having kids of her own in the future.

Still scrolling, Mia didn't find anything she liked. She was probably going to end up being one of those 19-year-old's who ends up getting a job in Starbucks and continues working there for the rest of her life...although she didn't mind the idea. She loved caffeine! And what better way to express your love than sharing it with the world.

Yawning, Mia closed her laptop and laid her head on her pillow. Tomorrow was going to be a long day, she thought. Her best friend Macy, wanted to go shopping with her, considering they both haven't seen each other in six months.

While Mia was in London trying to adapt to her life alone, Macy was exploring Europe with her boyfriend Daniel.

Mia fell asleep, lost in thought of seeing Macy the next day.

The first thing Mia thought when she woke up is that she needed more sleep, but when she grabbed her phone off her bed side table and looked at the time, surprise jolted through her body. It was 10:07 AM and on top of that she had missed five calls from Macy.

She was supposed to be at the mall at 9:30.

"Crap!" She whispered, as she got up from her bed and sprinted into the bathroom. She quickly tied her hair up and brushed her teeth. When she was finished she got straight into the shower. After that, she dressed as fast as she possibly could, put on her make-up, grabbed her car keys and headed straight for the shopping centre.

In the car she phoned Macy and apologised.

"There you are!" Shouted Macy as Mia walked towards the MacDonald's table she and Daniel were sat at. "I was beginning to wonder that something happened to you."

Macy embraced Mia in the biggest hug they'd ever shared. She could feel just how much Macy had missed her.

"Whoa! What happened in these past six months? Did you get a heart change or something?" Mia joked tapping Macy's shoulder in the process. "Well I'm starving right now, so can we order?" She added.
