The Wolf's Mermaid Mate

Chapter 3

Serina's POV

I dont know why but I keep getting distracted when I remember the human boy's eyes. When I look at him, its like there's something pulling me to go to him. Like there's a bond that's always been there from the moment we made eye contact.

Usually, swimming always helps me relax but now, I dont know what I'll do. I'm frustrated so much I want to go to the shore and ask the human boy's name. Just his name and its enough for me to be content. Gosh I'm being creepy.

"Oh my Zues someone saw us."

I ignore her just like Peter was looking at his dolphin that has a scar by the fin.

"Oh my Aphrodite the King's going to kill us."

Again, I choose to ignore her since I'm thinking of things more important at the matter.

"Oh my Hera what if he know?"

Ignore.

"Hey, are you alright?" I was cut off with my thoughts when Ava gently rub my back as a comforting gesture thinking I have a problem. She's right of course. This is what I like about her, even though at serious things, she still care for her friends first.

I dont know why she's worry I mean the werewolf didnt saw our tail so thats not a problem. I mean, female werewolves also use bra to cover there breast and thats the only thing the werewolf saw.

I look at her with sad eyes but instantly replace it with fake happiness not wanting to be interrogated knowing it will only make me more forlon. "Of course, why wouldn't I?" I ask her with a small shrug.

"Nothing, you seem a little... off?" She said but it came out more of a question.

"No worries, I'm fine." I reassure her.

After swimming for a while to unwind our bodies, we head back to Atlantis. The barrier is invinsible making the whole palace unseen. It can only be seen by mermaids and good hearted fishes. Unless you ask permission to King Poseidon, also known as my dad you can enter if he approves.

The moment we cross the barrier, the sight of gorgeous ancient structures met our eyes. I certainly wont get use to this. At the center is the castle with Mer Guard riding train and vicious sea horses that are ready to protect the royal family at all cost. All around, houses of other mermaids we're located. Different size, different designs, different things that symbolize each and everyone's personality.

Ava, go with her mom who's a cook in the palace while Peter went to his father that's the chief of the Mer Guards. As they happily enjoy each others company, I head to my room that's at the top of the palace with a gloomy face. Why can't dad be just like them?

Resting on my soft coral bed, I stared at nothing but my glowing cerulean tail. The questions 'what if' started to file in my mind making me wish I have a choice for once in my life. Just for once and maybe I can be truly happy without forcing it for dad to be content. What if I'm not a princess? What if I can be free for just a day? Most of all, What if I have legs instead of a tail?

"Serina?" My mom's sweet voice cut me off my thoughts as she poke her head over my violet coral door.

"Hi mom. Come in." I greeted her and sat up.

She entered with power radiating from her entire being. Her golden elegant crown filled with shinning jewels and her glowing fuscia butterfly tail made her more and more beautiful. It what makes her Queen of Atlantis; Power and Beauty but above all, kindness.
