(It's been forever I realize and I'm sorry.  I'm also going to apologize in advance for all the time skips.  They're short ones but I really wanted to get this story moving a bit so I'm most likely going to be skipping writing about school too much.)

Castiel's POV

I won't sugarcoat things.  Dean passed the fuck out.  Sam stood there shocked the entire time.  What was going on?  Didn't humans do it this way?  "Castiel, we need to get Dean on the couch."  Lucifer says grabbing Dean's foot and starts to drag him.  "Don't You Dare Lucifer Novak!  That Is My Husband!"  I exclaim.  Lucifer drops his foot.

I get help carrying Dean properly to the couch, and Gabe was still trying to get Sam to calm down.  Once Dean was settled, Michael came in carrying a necklace.  "Do you want to do this now?"  He asked.  "No."  I say.  "I want to make sure he is ok with this first."  I say.  Michael shrugs and hands me the necklace.  It was filled with a special coral powder that turned humans into mermaids.  But it only worked if a full mermaid did the procedure.

It was around an hour when Dean finally came to.  Everyone had left us for some privacy.

"W-What happened?"  He whispered, running a hand over his face and through his hair.  "Hello Dean."  I said.  "Cas?  Was I dreaming?"  He asked.  "No Dean."  "So...  We really are married?"  He asks.  "Yes Dean.  In my culture, you give someone a ring, then the other person gives one back.  They seal their marriage with a kiss.  It's always done in private on the beach so I'm sorry that I...  Assumed anything."  I say, a small tear sliding down my cheek.  Tears and saliva don't trigger the change.

"Cas it's fine.  It can be...  Undone...  Right?"  He asks.  My face falls.  "N-Not easily no."  I say.  "Well what's the hard way?"  "One of us dying."  I say bluntly.  "Wow.  No offense, but your culture is weird."  Dean says.  I laugh a little.  "It's fine."

"I guess it could be worse."  Dean says sitting up.  "I guess I just need a few days to think about things ok?"  I nod.  "There is this one other thing...  We need to have contact at least once a day or I will fall weak.  It might sound silly to you...  But trust me."  I say blushing.  "Ok Cas.  I trust you."

"I guess I should let you go then."  I say standing up.  Dean gets up as well and walks up to me.  He gets close to my face and leans down a little.  "Does this count as contact?"  He whispers.  Dean closes the gap between us by planting his lips on mine in a quick kiss.  My face heats up quickly.  "Definitely."  Dean chuckles.

"You're adorable.  And if I had to be accidentally married to someone...  I'm glad it's you."  Dean says rubbing his thumb over my jawbone.  I blush even harder.  Dean chuckles again before calling for Sam to come downstairs.  Michael and Lucifer decided it would be great to stall them and start talking, and I took that as my cue to leave.  I needed salt water because my arms and legs had been itchy all day.

When I changed into my trunks and grabbed a towel, Dean and Sam were gone.  I wasted no time running down to the water and jumping in.  After I changed, I was off.

Dean's POV

I heard a splash and I turned t'words the direction of the noise.  I saw a blue tail in the water, then it swam away.  "Sam!  Did you see that!?  It was the creature I was telling you about!"  I exclaimed happily, knowing it was still around.  Sam had to grab my arm to regain my attention.  "Let's just get home Dean.  We've had a long day."  Sam says dragging me.

When we got home, only our mom was home.  "Hello boys!  How was your day?"  She chirped happily.  Our mother Mary was beautiful.  "I...  Uh...  Have some news...  But it can wait til Dad gets here."  Is all I say before hurrying up to my room.
