The sun was shining through my bedroom window, that one fateful morning.
I opened my eyes and stared at the ceiling. I hate school.
I got up and got dressed in the usual, sneakers, skinny jeans, and a Lana Del Rey shirt. With earbuds in hand, I trotted down the stairs to say goodbye to my mom.She was on the phone with her secret lover. I knew she had been cheating on Dad with that one Jon guy from Menards. Dad doesn't know yet, and I'm not sure if I'll tell him. It's kind of fun hearing that prepubescent voice that's so high only dogs could hear over the telephone. (inside joke btw)
I waved goodbye to my mom and walked out of the door. Closing the door behind me, I took a deep breath. Today was going to a boring day just like any other. I started to walk down the sidewalk, not aware of my surroundings. The only thing I was paying attention to was Pokémon Go and my earbuds blasting Ghost Town DJ's: My Boo.
I continued my walk, until I started to hear a strange noise behind me. It almost sounded like plastic scraping on concrete. Was I being delusional? I turned around to find out. What I saw was astonishing.
Were my eyes deceiving me? No. Not at all. It was a 7 year old looking boy driving in a Barbie jeep. The boy pulled up beside me and ran his fingers through his hair. I rolled my eyes and kept walking, looking down at my phone looking for Pokémon.
"Hey, girl." a high, nasally voice called behind me. I turned around with annoyance, facing him.
"What do you want?" I spat as I ripped out my earbud.
The boy smirked and bit his lip. "You."
I shivered in disgust and put my earbuds back in as I continued to walk.
Once he realized I was walking away , he put his hand on my shoulder to stop me.
I turned around quickly and glared at him. "Leave me alone. You're disgusting." I said, "and I'm in the middle of catching a drowzee."
He smirked. "You should listen to my hit song Sweatshirt. It's fire."
