A/N: Chapter! Yay! Reading! Yay!

Pickle's POV:
I woke up around 7:30 the next morning. Now, usually when I wake up, the first thing I think about is breakfast. That didn't seem to be the case this time though.

Tora (and breakfast. Specifically, the breakfast she made.) was the first thought that came to mind. How is it that she was able to make my favorite breakfast...? And exactly the way I like it too...?! I'm so confused about it... Maybe she just got lucky, I don't know.

I got up, got dressed, then walked into my bathroom. It's huge compared to other bathrooms:

(Just a part of it)

I stared into the mirror, looking at myself. I could practically visualize my father's crown on my head. Am I really ready for this? In 13 days, I'm being crowned king and getting a fiancée. It just feels too soon... A king at age 17? Geez, how did Father manage an entire kingdom? I don't understand... How am I supposed to find a suitable fiancée in 13 da-?

"Your Majesty? Are you alright?" OJ's voice interrupted my thoughts. He knocked on the door.

"Yes, I'm fine OJ..." I replied. I snapped out of my deep thought, then finished up in the bathroom. I walked out, then headed downstairs to the first dining room to eat breakfast. It probably won't be as good as yesterday's... Oh well.

I sat down in my chair at the end of the long table. Mother came shortly after, sitting in her chair.

"Pickle, dear?" she asked me after sitting down.

"Yes, Mother?"

"I believe I forgot to inform you that you'll be having a royal ball in your honor on your birthday," she told me.

"Oh, really?" I asked.

"Yes, it will be held in the evening. Plenty of girls will be there. Especially princesses from all over the world," Mother smiled.

"Mother... Was that really necessary?" I asked, looking slightly annoyed.

"Goodness, dear child. It's just in case that you don't find your fiancée before then."

"I know... But why mention the princess part?"

"Well... You do know what happens if you marry a princess, correct?"

"Uh... Sure... I know... But, um, I'm really tired, so... Remind me?" I said sheepishly. Mother sighed.

"You become the king of both kingdoms and your descendants rule both of the kingdoms as well. That is, as long as there isn't an older male sibling who has married and become the king. If that has happened already, then the princess leaves her kingdom and you would only rule over Pilla."

"Oh, right. I knew that."

"Honestly, you really need to focus more on your studies."

"Mother, I need to learn how to rule over a kingdom. I don't need to learn about trigonometry ratios."
