Today was Gerard and my 1 year dating anniversary. He was planning something special, and I was excited.

With a bag of groceries in one hand, I opened the door, and I was instantly hit with a heavy smell of vanilla. As I looked around, I noticed that the lights were dimmed, and there was a trail of rose petals leading up the stairs. I walked upstairs, and there were also vanilla candles lighting a path.

"Gerard?" I called as I entered the master bedroom we shared. I then noticed a small piece of paper on our velvet bed.

Dear (Y/N),

I hoped you liked the surprise, but there's more to come. Dress formally, for which there will be a limousine at the door to pick you up at 6:00 sharp. Love you,

Gerard

I smiled and quickly walked into our walk-in closet. I looked at the time. It was 5:30. 30 minutes until I saw Gerard.

Looking around my closet, I finally found something to wear. It was a shimmering black dress that went to my knees, and some black, shiny heels.

I wasn't really a person that wore makeup, but today I used a little more than usual. I put on some cherry red lipstick, a small amount of blush, and some (F/C) eye shadow. I put on some more perfume, a travel sized lotion bottle, and my phone in my bag and walked downstairs.

By the time I was down the stairs, the doorbell rang. I opened it, revealing a tall middle-aged man.

"Hello ma'am, are you Ms. (Y/N) (L/N)?" he asked politely.

"Yes, I am," I replied with the same amount of politeness.

"Your ride is here. Can you come with me?" I nodded. I locked the door and walked towards the limousine. The man opened the door and I was shocked. Gerard was wearing a black tuxedo with a small red rose near his heart. He was sitting cross-legged and had a red rose in his hand as well. He looked towards the door and his eyes lit up with happiness. He looked me up and down and smirked. I got in the limo and kissed Gerard in the cheek. He handed me the rose.

"For you, my lady," he said. "Thank you, my kind sir." We both laughed.

"We're matching," I say. "He looks at my clothes, then back to his. "Yeah, I guess we are."

We chatted for a while until I felt the limo come to a stop. We looked out the window. We were parked at the most expensive restaurant in town. Gerard opens his door, opens my door, and helps me out. We walk into the restaurant. We were greeted by a waitress in an emerald green dress.

"Hello. Do you have a reservation?", she asks. Gerard nods. "Reservation for Gerard and (Y/N)." The woman scrolls through her iPad mini. She looks up and smiles. "Right this way." She leads us to a candlelit booth. "My name is Kendra and I will be your server this evening. What would you like to drink?" she asks. Gerard and I take a glance at each other. "Red wine!" we say at the same time.

We laugh like kids as the waitress is walking down the aisle to get our drinks. We are still laughing, earning stares from other customers. I ended up snorting, and Gerard laughed even louder and was now crying tears of joy. The lady came back and was chuckling at our immaturity.

"Here is your red wine. Have you decided on your entrées?" she asked.

"I will have the Fettuccine Alfredo," I say. That was my all time favorite thing to eat at a restaurant. "I will have the 3 cheese lasagna," Gerard says and puts an arm around me. "Okay. I will be back with your entrées." She walks away.

(2 hours later because the author is too lazy to write)

We were almost to our house when I feel a weight on my shoulder. I see a black mop of hair that belongs to Gerard. I then heard light snoring. I lightly shake him awake.

"Gerard..." I whisper in a singsong voice. He stirs a little but not enough to wake him up. Then I think of something to say to wake him up.

"Do you wanna get lucky tonight?" I whisper in his ear, which results in a chuckle of laughter from the limo driver.

Gerard jolts awake and looks at me. "I'm awake!" He quickly gets out of the car and pays the driver. The driver drives off into the night. "Were you being serious?", he asks. I smirk. "I guess so." I unlock the door, walk in, relock the door, and pull Gerard's arm towards our room. I push him on the bed and close the door.

Let the fun begin.
