Toby wasn't completely sure why he still had that picture of him and Lyra. He found it in a shoe box under his bed, and it sure sparked some memories.
Toby's memories only come back in flashes when something triggers them. Normally they just fuel his need for revenge and help him kill but remembering his sister. The way she took care of him; when she'd play with him at the park; they used to get ice cream together; she'd host fake dance parties for him; he'd tell her that her boyfriend was being a dick and was out of line while she finished painting her nails. Lyra was Toby's best friend, and here, honestly Toby had no one.
Not wanting any of the other Creepypastas to see him cry he hid himself in his closet with the picture of Lyra.
Slenderman sent Jeff to remind Toby he had a mission later that night.Wanting to make some fun of Slendy's orders Jeff decided he would scare Toby.
Jeff lightly grabbed the door nob, readied himslef, then pushed open the door, pouncing in and yelling "boo!" in a some-what scratchy voice.
Toby jumped, hitting his head on the wall behind him, sucking in a quick breath and letting it quiver back out.
Jeff looked at the closet curiously, closed the bed room door, and walked over to Toby's hiding place.
"Toby?.. why are you in the closet." He refrained from laughing at the gay joke he had just made. Toby quickly stood up, wiping his eyes. Jeff opened the closet door. Toby avoided eye contact with him. "Have you been crying?"
"Allergies." Toby lied
"Sure," Jeff said sarcastically. "Why are you in the-" he stopped mid-sentence when he saw the picture of Toby and Lyra, "is that your sister?"
"Yeah," Toby breathed. Jeff slid down the door frame, picking up the picture as if it was a delicate as a flower petal. Toby plopped down in front of Jeff and pulled his knees up to his chest.
"She's beautiful," Jeff whispered and gave Toby a sympathetic look. "I'm sorry." Toby nodded and looked down confused. Jeff was never this nice to anyone, not even Ben, and never the twitchy kid. "You want to talk about it?"
Toby looked at Jeff, feeling another tear run down his cheek. Jeff sat up on his knees and whipped the tear away. "You know I had a brother at one point in time, we were really close." Jeff slid over and sat next to Toby.
Pretty much everyone had forgotten Jeff and Lui used to get along. But things were different now, it never really struck Toby that Jeff cared.
"I'm sorry," Toby croaked, the crying he had done made his voice sound different.
"For what?"
"Your brother, the way things are."
Toby hiccuped and wiped his eyes again, Jeff put his arm around Toby and pulled him down so his head was on his shoulder.
"You never told anyone what happened." Toby nodded, "will you tell me?"
Toby tossed the question around in his head before decided that he trusted Jeff. "I never really left my house much, people would laugh or stare at me so... Lyra said that we were just going to Dairy Queen and that no one would see me, so I went with her. We crashed, I don't even know how but we did, Her legs were broken, her ribs crushed," Toby choked on his tears, "in... her jaw was ripped off and her face was cut up badly... She was still alive! She could still feel it! She died later on in the hospital."
Jeff had always felt bad for Toby. Even though he had just heard the whole story he always knew that Toby didn't choose to loose Lyra. He didn't go crazy like himself, Clock Work, and many others. Jeff tried to kill Lui and even though he didn't he has regretted it since it happened. In his mind he didn't deserve to be sad. Toby, on the other hand, had ever right in the world.
Toby snuggled closer to Jeff, who wrapped his other arm around Toby and kissed him lightly on the forehead.
"Tell anyone I'm doing this and I will shove my foot so far up your ass..." he said in a still soft, comforting voice.
"Okay," Toby said with a small chuckle and just enjoyed Jeff's company.
