"Come on Marshall! Hurry up!" called the young soon-to-be Prince. "Calm down, I'm coming."

The older... way older, Vampire King floated after him. He had lost sight of his pink companion. He looked around.

"Gumball?" He called. He flew around, looking for him.

"Bubba this isn't funny, where are you?" He heard a groan from the bushes. Gumball walked out from the bushes, and threw his hands up.

"Damn it, Marshall! I hate when you call me that." He said. He crossed his arms and pouted. The vampire chuckled and floated over to him, and ruffled his hair. "Well then, I'm going to start calling you that more," He told him. Gumball groaned and started walking ahead.

"Where are we going anyways?" The Vampire asked. The pink boy's eyes widened.

"Oh yeah! I forgot," He grabbed the Vampire's wrist and pulled him along with him.

Chills were sent up Marshall's back as soon as the warmth of Gumball's hand touched his icy skin. He made a small smile. As he was pulled along, Marshall thought. 'I can't believe this kid is going to be a Prince one day.' It saddened him. He'll no longer be his jumpy, irresponsible, 16 year-old self. He'll have to grow up fast. Starting when he turns 17. He'll have to be an adult, with huge responsibilities. He'll have to prepare for when he turns 18, and becomes the Prince of an entire Candy Kingdom.

'To be honest, I'm going to really miss always hanging out with him.' Marshall thought. Things will be different. Way different. He doesn't know what'll happen. Hopefully something good. He hopes /his/ Prince's future is amazing. Maybe he'll get married. Have kids.

But the thought of that secretly bothered Marshall.

And he never knew why.

"We're almost there," A voice said, breaking him from his thoughts. His wrist was still tightly in Gumball's hand. He looked up and saw where they were. He widened his eyes.

"We're here," Gumball said softly.

Marshall couldn't believe his eyes. They were in a little swamp, with dead trees, and vines, but he ignored that. In the middle of the area, was a little yellow house.

"It's yours," The pink Prince said. Marshall looked at him in disbelief.

"I-... It's f-for me..?" He asked. Gumball nodded.

"One day I was walking through here and found this old, abandoned house. So I had help rebuilding and redecorating it. For you. Because it's way better than that old dark cave you live in." He said, smiling.

Marshall was still in shock. Gumball had fixed this house up... for him?!

"B-... Bubba, I-... I don't... wow..." He stuttered, speechless.

"I wanted to thank you for being such a great friend these years. I know next week I'll be turning 17, and I'll have to start being a responsible adult, and learn how to be a good prince. So here's how I'm thanking you. I-" He was interrupted by being attacked in a hug.

"Woah!" He yelled, falling to the ground on his butt.

"T-Thank you.. so much Bubba... This means the world to me.." Marshall said, squeezing him.
