Chapter 4

"Bye bye!" I sang waving at her.

Diane's POV:
I watched as the stars made their way across the sky. 'Where am I gonna go now?! Dad's in jail, Mom's going to jai-' My attention was stolen by a whimper from (Y/n). "She's having the nightmare again....she's been having that nightmare a lot more than she use to....." I watched as tears ran down her face, "She use to only have that stupid nightmare once a year...this is the fourth time." I gently rubbed her arm. "(Y/n)...wake up." I whispered. She stirred. I rubbed faster, feeling a sense of urgency, for a reason I could not name. She groaned turning away from me. Fear took hold of me, like something bad was gonna happen...

Right as I got that feeling the fire alarm went off.

I completely forgot about everything and everyone but my own safety. I ran over to the door. I flung it open, and ran out. I took off down the hall, dodging everyone in my way. I ran until I was outside.

"ONE OF THE PATIENTS IS STILL IN THERE!!" A nurse screamed as she looked at a doctor.

I spun around looking for (Y/n)....I couldn't see her....'She's probably just out of sight....' I thought.....then realization hit me like a tidal wave, "(Y/n) is still in there!!" My hands gripped at my shirt, as I watched the hospital doors...till there was no doors to stare at...."She's gone...." I whined as I fell to the ground, "I left her in there....the last of the people I love is gone....this is all my fault...." I pulled at my hair.

"She's dead, and its my fault!!!" I screamed loud enough for the stars to hear my cries.
