Summer with the Blake Brothers

Chapter Seventeen:

There was only one person I wanted to set one of my best friends up with. I haven’t known him for very long but I already knew that he was going to be a perfect match for them. And what better way to set up two people that having a party.

Currently Mase and his brothers were setting up for the party that was supposed to happen in just a few hours. Michelle and Matthew had given us permission and had taken the younger kids up to their grandparent’s house so we could throw the party. Kyle and Oliver were setting up the lights while Xavier was helping with the music set up. I had put away all the alcohol into multiple coolers that we set around the yard.

As the sun started setting and we knew the party was going to start, Elle and I finished the final touches on our hair and makeup before slipping out of my bedroom and downstairs just as the first guests were starting to arrive. And before you know it, the house is filled with sweaty teenagers all with a red solo cup in their hands filled with different liquors or beer.

Elle stayed glued to my side, as we searched for Mason. I had finally found him when we went to search the backyard and found him playing a game of beer pong, which he was losing very badly. “Hey babe.” Mase said, pecking my lips and wrapping his left arm around my waist, keeping his right hand free to toss the ping-pongs.

“You seem to be losing pretty bad.” I teased, taking another sip of the beer in my hand. My nose scrunched in distaste but I took another sip anyway.

“If you don’t like beer Lex, you just shouldn’t drink it. Nobody is making you.” Mason laughed before chugging another cup of beer.

“I just don’t want any other liquors right now, not until I find him.” I said vaguely, but I knew that Mase would know what I was talking about. “I don’t think he’s here yet.”

“No, I saw him a few minutes ago. I think he was helping Oliver carry in a few more bags of ice for the coolers. You should go check the kitchen.”

After searching the entirety of the house, I had finally found who I was looking for. I had told Elle to stick by Mason and his friends while I went in to search for him.

“I have someone I want you to meet.” I told him as I led him outside towards the beer pong table where Mason stood watching his friends play, while sipping on his own beer.

“You’re setting me up?” He asked with his eyebrows raised. “I don’t like to be set up.” He added.
