S.H.I.E.L.D. Quinjet
"We're about forty minutes out from base sir." The quinjet pilot says. Coulson gets up from his seat, moving to stand beside Steve Rogers, who was looking at footage of the Avengers--which included him.
Hayden leaned on the wall in front of Steve, not bothering sit down. Her brown eyes watched Coulson, who looked like he was trying not to smile widely.
"So this Doctor Banner was trying to replicate the serum that was used on me?" Steve asked, looking up from the tablet to Hayden.
"A lot of people were. You were the world's first superhero. Banner thought gamma radiation might hold the key to unlocking Erskine's original formula." Hayden replied.
"Didn't really go his way, did it?" Steve asked.
"Not so much. When he's not that thing though, guy's like a Stephen Hawking." Coulson said. Unfortunately, Steve looked utterly confused.
"He's like a really smart person." Coulson clarified.
"Like Albert Einstein," Hayden added. Steve nodded. That one he did know.
"I gotta say it's an honor to meet you. Officially." Phil said. Hayden couldn't contain her smile, but thankfully, Steve didn't notice.
Oh boy. Here it comes.
"I sort of met you. I mean...I watched you while you were sleeping."
Oh my god, Coulson. Hayden resisted the urge to laugh, settling for a wode smile instead.
To clear out the awkwardness, Steve closes the tablet and stands up, walking towards the cockpit to look put the wide windows from the pilot's view. Coulson folllows him like a puppy, which made Hayden giggle quietly.
"I mean I was present...while you were unconcious from the ice. It's really just an honor to have you on board." Coulson finished.
"Well I hope I'm the man for the job." Steve said.
"Oh you are. We've uh...made some modifications to the uniform. I had a little design input." Coulson says.
"The uniform? aren't the stars and stripes a little...old fashioned?"
Steve turns behind him, hearing Hayden speak from her position on the side.
"With everything that's happening, The things that are about to come to light, people might just need a little old fashioned." Hayden said.
