Chapter one: I love him but he loves her

There he was. Right in front of me. So close but so far. The only thing is he's not alone. She was with him. She was the one I hate.
She or Jessica (as in her real name) and I used to be friends. Until she took him away from me. He or Gil (as in his real name) used to be my lover. The one I use to go to if I need advice, a shoulder to cry on, or simply just to hang out.
As for me, I'm Artemis, Artemis Winfield.

There's nothing special about me or my features.
I have Carmel skin with dimples one each side of my face. Pink lips and Curly hair. And with a height of 4'11, I am nothing to write home about.

"It's now or never Artemis." I say to myself as I walk up to Gil
"Hi Gil." I say as I tap his shoulder
He turns around.
"Oh, hi Artemis!" He says with that heart stopping smile I love

Jessica turned around and shot me a glare. She doesn't like when I talk to him, how pathetic.

"I wanted to know if you want to come over my house later. I having a get together." I say and looked at Jessica "you can come too Jessica." I say with a small smile

"I'd love to!" Gil exclaimed

I smile bigger. "That's wonderful!" I look at Jessica

She shots me another glare. "But Gil, we were suppose to have a date to night!" She whines

I frowned a little. I really wanted to spend time with Gil but I have a feeling Ms. Whining pants is going to change that.

"Jessica lightin' up a little. Let's have fun for once!" Gil said sounding annoyed "Don't worry Artemis, we're coming." 

I smiled. "Great, see you after class?"

"Of course!" He said as he walk away with Jessica

I exhale heavily and my heart was pounding out of my chest. I can't believe I just did that.
