Summer. The best time of the year, in my opinion. This is for many reasons, such as my birthday, Christmas, New Years, and hot weather. Hot Weather also means going to the beach.
In my family, we have this beach house down the south of the state, and we have been going there for as long as I can remember, just look in the photo albums. This could also make sense why I love the water. The day we make the three-hour trip to the beach is always fun, as we take my Dad's car because it's easier for him to pack the car, it has more leg room, and is way easier to get the sand out of the carpet. Because his car doesn't get the best reception for the radio, Mum puts in a CD from the 80's or 90's and then my brother gets pissed off about it, I personally couldn't care, because it is not country music or the local radio Dad likes.
During the trip, we would have one or two toilet stops, depending on how much Mum drank beforehand. We would also stop at my cousin's house, my Dad's older brother. He is the only one who doesn't live near us, which sucks as they are the only relatives I get on with. They are lucky as they live near the beach, which is 30 minutes from our beach house. During our stay, they meet us at the beach everyday it is a hot temperature, so my brother can see our cousin, Luke. Luke and James are pretty much the same age, only a few months in between them. My Mum and my Aunty get on well, I usually talk to my younger cousin Eve, she is 6 years younger but is pretty cool, a bit shy at some points.
As I have grown up, we have been through a few neighbours, some are alright, some are annoying. This is what happens with people who live in built up areas. Back in the country, we all say hi to each other, are friendly, and are always up for a chat. No offence to city slackers, but you need to lighten up. Over the last few years, I have noticed a family a few houses down, have a really attractive relative I think. I saw him playing catch with his family a few years ago. I haven't actually talked to him, but I don't know if I will ever.
When we reach the beach house, I go straight to the balcony and look at the view. Our view is pretty amazing as we live on the hill facing the beach, so we can see the whole peninsula. Dad usually sits up on the balcony and look out at the beach every morning judging the current for the day, assessing his position on the beach. Generally, I go for a walk with Mum to get the paper and some bread from Baker's Delight because it is always worth the long walk for the smell of fresh bread and jam scrolls. I guess for the people who go to the beach often, they don't get overwhelmed by the smell of salt water, so I could sort of say that I am used to it.
I always hope when I go to the beach, things will change and I will make some great memories that I will not forget. It generally happens, but I want things to change my future, not that my family is too bad. So when I turned 17 and my parents loosened up on my restrictions and boundaries, I guess I expected things to change.

A/N-
First part. Hope you all enjoyed, I know it is more than likely short for those reading on computer, but on mobile, I'll figure that out.
If some are you confused, the way this story is written is from the Australian Summer. The reason is because I have only experienced an Australian summer seeing I am Aussie. And no, we do not ride Kangaroo's to school, we take buses or get driven...
Thanks again for reading, but for now, no one has read it and maybe that will change.
Her name will be revealed next chapter...
Until another time,
Happy Reading!!
