The duo returned to the Haven, safe but not so sound. They had cuts and bruises but the Medical Staff took care of it pretty quickly. They walked into the Alchemy Central, a great dome-looking room with a beautiful chandelier hanging down. The room was an octagon shape and had books and magical artifacts decorating the place. In the middle stood a simple wooden table with a book in the middle of the table. It was in a very neat position.
"Don't touch anything in here," Alister told Dagon. "Really, you don't want to. Some of these things could kill you. As in, it will actually kill you."
They walked to the table and Alister flipped the pages, browsing through torn and tattered yellow pieces of paper, until he found the page on the Nightingale Gem. Dagon tried to read it, but it was in another language and requested for a translation from Alister.
Alister lifted up his head and looked at Dagon. He explained," This is the ancient language of the Gods that once roamed this land. They used a language called Syphilic. Unfortunately, many people have forgotten but only the Grandest of Sorcerers and Spawns still remember it till today. I am one of them."
"So what does the gem do?" Dagon asked.
"I explained it already, did I not?"
"No, what does it do exactly?"
Alister gave a sigh and spoke," It wields the power of all the elements. But the strength of the power relies on the capabilities of its user. Once a person touches the staff, the gem would connect to the user until the user destroys the gem or dies."
"Sounds pretty cool. So, you're going to use it?" Dagon asked.
"I'm afraid my time won't be long in this world. So I want you to take it instead. That's right, you'll be using the Staff. Now, let's head to the Forge. I know how to jam this thing in for you."
There was a lot of clinking and clanking with Blacksmiths shouting and yelling and smoke filling the air with the searing heat of the fire. The duo walked towards a short, pink guy with a thick, white beard. The Blacksmith lifted up his goggles and looked at Alister. He smiled and spoke a little too loudly," If it isn't my good ol' pal Alister?" The whole Forge fell silent and looked over at Alister for a moment before continuing whatever they were doing.
"Hello Klink, I could use a favour," Alister said and he showed the Gem to Klink. He widened his eyes and said," Sure, let's get on it. Where's the Staff you gonna jam it into?" Alister pulled it out and Klink took them behind the curtain into another room.
There was lava, burning heat and a lot of smacking of a hammer, but the Gem was finally imfused into the Staff. The Gem glowed a bright emerald and Alister looked at Dagon.
"Well? Hurry up now!"
Dagon hesitated for a moment before reaching out for the staff and grabbed it.
