Alex then showed some other spots around the shopping district mentioning things that involved sales that Charla should keep an eye on if she's ever in the area.
"You know, there's actually a place I'd like to show you. You're probably hungry after what's happened right?"
"Not particularly." After she collapsed it was like all things like hunger would just die off, this wasn't the first time it happened. It would on occasions and now was just something else that Charla had to deal with.
"Well anything else I thought we could go and grab a bite to eat or something. I know a place, come on." when Charla didn't say anything Alex added. "We have stake there." and once again she reacted almost like a surprised cat, though Alex mainly only said that like taking a shot in the dark since a number of people had a fondness for stake. Unless they were vegan or vegetarian.
"Is it expensive?" Charla asked.
"It is sometimes but I can get an exclusive discount, so you don't have to worry about it," Alex then lead her to a small local restraint that also seemed to double as a house. And when Charla followed inside and the smell of different foods came to her nose, though at the moment it didn't look to be all too busy when they entered the place.
And right when Alex entered a man in his late teens to early twenties came over, he had several piercings along his right ear and had the same hair and eye color as Alex but his hair seemed to be partly shaved in the back. "Alex?" he said with surprise. "What the heck are you doing here; school doesn't end for at least another hour."
"I'm not ditching if that's what you think, just helping the new girl find her way around a bit before she heads home. Besides it's not a major thing really, you don't have to sound worried."
The young man frowned, not sure if he should believe her words or not, but before he had the chance to say something a muscular man that looked to be in his mid-forties came out from the back calling out.
"Joshua, what are you doing talking to customers?"
"It's Alex Dad, she came back early." The young man named Joshua said as the large muscular man with a full beard and short reddish brown hair and light blue eyes looked to Alex then to Charla.
"Who's this?" he asked as he folded his arms across his broad chest.
"Charla Liebert sir," Charla said to him.
"Liebert, so you're from that family." He offered a hand to Charla. "Michael Maxwell, and as you may have guessed I'm the father of those two idiots."
"Do you have to say it like that?" Joshua said with a tired breath yet held an amused smile even though his tone would have said otherwise.
Charla took his hand. "I figured as much, though I didn't know her family owned a store."
"Sharlton isn't all that big, so it won't be surprising to find a number of small local businesses owned by families here. Didn't I mention that?"
When Charla shook her head Alex's father asked.
"If I don't mean to sound pushy but how did you both meet?"
"She helped me a number of times today." Charla said. "Most notably from nearly being hit by a speeding car in that intersection near the school."
"Is that so?" he then looked to Alex. "Then why are the two of you here instead of school? It shouldn't be done for at least another hour."
