When next week came around the whole town was abuzz with talks about the sudden murders more then ever. Before it was merely rumors and speculation when that article immerged but now with it being confirmed that multiple deaths (of known criminals mind you) had taken place many began to talk of why it happened, theories as to what could have caused it and speculation to who may have been behind it.

Many were thinking that the men had attacked each other in a drunken rage, fighting over the money that had been taken from the crime scene. As Charla walked to school she kept hearing the towns people talking about the incident, at least in the city there was more going on but here it was all that they talked about. And what was worse her head was giving a dull throb along the back of her neck. It seemed to come and go these past several days.

Charla rubbed her neck out of habit only it didn't seem to be helping her, it was as though something inside of her was trying to stab its way out of the back of her neck. It was odd, she had felt a dull throbbing pain before but nothing like this, was it because of that phone call with her mother that caused it?

"Hey Charla!" she stopped to look back and see Alex running over to catch up, her arm waving in the air as she ran. "You ready for the test today?"

Test? Oh, right there's one today. Charla offered a wary smile. "I guess, what about you?"

"Ugh no, and it's on history I suck at that." Alex groaned as she wrapped an arm around Charla's shoulders. "Why do we have to have a test on Monday of all days? God sucks, he's so unfair, and worst off Square-tach is watching over it. What did I do to garner so much hate?"

"Maybe it's payback for not actually studying?" Charla offered only to wince slightly from pain. Something of which that Alex noticed.

"Hey, are you okay? You don't look too good."

"I'm alright for the most part, just... I had a fight with my Mother over the phone a little while ago. But then it feels like it's always been like that between us."

"What started the fight?" Alex asked as she removed her arm from Charla's shoulders and walked beside her.

She stopped in her tracks. Her gaze went to her feet before she spoke. "She wanted to know if I've done anything like in my pervious school. If I hurt anyone." One hand gripped her arm as her gaze remained to the ground. "She's always been like that, keeping appearances when there are people around us when in reality she couldn't give a damn. It was always about Carlin, she never cared about me, just the useless twin."

"You're Mom sounds horrible."

Charla gave a half smile. "Oh, there's more but, right now it's not important, I'd rather not think about it," her smile disappeared at her eyes began to darken, becoming hollow and empty. "If anything, I sometimes wish they'd both just disappear. My mother, and him..."

Alex frowned, it wasn't her father she was talking about, it was someone else. But in that instant Jason and Will came up to them Charla then snapped out of whatever depression she was in and offered them both a slight smile.

"Hi Jason, Will, are you both ready for the test today?"

"No!" Will spoke in a prolonged tone. "Don't say it, don't even think it. I'm dreading this afternoon class! Why do we have to have a test on Monday, why is it always Monday? Life is being so cheap I swear!"

"You're only saying that because you didn't study on the weekend." Jason said with a slight deadpan. "If you had you wouldn't be freaking as much."
