Chezza here, this story is un cliche, lets admit it that's my genre of writing mainly! Read if you will, love with your might, vote and comment and rainbows will marry you with unicorn bubbays. Each chapter is a reason why Cairo and Jamie love one another.------------------------------------------

Jamie Goodenough. My last name says it all. Since I've been 13 I've purely been the definition of awkward and odd. Guys avoid me, the ladies don't rate me. I'm just an odd lump in the high school status. I don't even have a rank. I'm just Goodenough.

My mum loves me at least, she thinks I'm her little star. Even if I'm totally consumed in a new anime fandom she would attempt to show mild interest...my father though. He was gone long ago. Something about travelling mum said.

See how I call him father? I can't even address him in a more warm modern manner, no rather I think of him as a cold dark figure that abandoned me before I could toddle. Even before I got a word out I was thought of as a failure.

I'm in school right now. Almond High, the school for drama-queens and eggheads. Don't ask me how I ended up getting into an art and drama school, besides- I'm on lighting crew.

That's me always in the background...

School? How can I describe it? How am I meant to 'draw you in'? I truly don't care. Read you if want...listen if you want. Whatever.

"Goodenough!" My close and only friend Benny yelled.

An image of Benny, short, rosy cheeks and blonde with dull grey eyes. He makes up for them with his cheeks however.

"Yeah?" I called back. Benny collided into my shoulder, tumbling us down. The hall exploded into snickers beside us. I scoffed.

Benny brushed himself off, jumped and grinned gleefully down at me.

"Madam Rouge has given me the lead in the play!" He chuckled pleasantly. I ruffled his hair, hitching up my glasses once again.

"Which one?" I always took an interest in what Benny did.

"Humpy Dumpty sir!" Benny grinned at me wildly, flicking his beiber-styled-haircut out of his face.

Any normal person would have been mock full but Benny was my close friend, he deserved someone to appreciate him.

"Well done Benny!" I briefly hugged him.

"Fags!" Luke and his mates called out. Typical dancers...always making fun of us when it was certain that at least 60 percent of them were gay. Benny smirked a little, he returned my hug cheekily, as I reddened, my glasses falling off.

That's Benny..he never takes it too harshly he almost always shakes it off as a nothing. That's why he's my friend- only friend.

The school bell rang rudely, signalling the respective end of a long school day. I picked up my Hetalia back-pack and headed out towards the school door, Benny beside me, happily jumping alongside.

"Cairo Hays, this is the last time I'm ever going to see you in my office, you hear!"

This was not a question, I knew that. This would not be the last time, we both knew that.

"Your skettish attitude-"

I zoomed out, had my own head mistress just called me a sket? Was that even legal? I'm sure if David Cameron or Gordon Brown or even the queen heard this they would say it was illegal and demeaning to all pupils.

"That boy! You were making out with-"

"Snogging miss, snogging." I corrected her, damn why could teachers never get it right?

"Slugging? Whatever!"

So she can say whatever but not snogging?

I sighed, shuffling in my seat irritatedly. I had been kept in the office of Miss Gold Browns academy after school. Kept behind school because apparently wearing a short skirt, snogging, and flipping the bird to a senior member of staff was disallowed.

I'm Cairo Hays and this is my life.
