Note: Hey guys. I'm really sorry that this chapter has to end MDM. I found out yesterday that my family is moving away (I'm in high school), and it's really stressing me out. I am going to take a break until around August, so please keep an eye out and don't unfollow me. I I love you all! :)
Before I take my break, I will publish a one-shot (one chapter scenario). Keep an eye out! :D
[Christmas 2015]
It was that time again. The time of the year when everything was merry and bright. Wednesday was laughing, Pugsley was singing along to Christmas carols, and Gomez-he was so happy. We had bonded so easily over the past few months. It was so hard to believe that we had been together since June.
Our first date had been in June, barely a week after the party-he took me to a theme park. I had never been to one and had a wonderful time.
We had had another wedding ceremony, a real one, in the midst of a beautiful July. It was small, but our kids were there. We have been so happy ever since.
Now it was Christmas morning. The mansion was aglow with the lights we had purchased. Little Wednesday was all wrapped up in them, clutching at their bulbs as we grabbed them from her and dove into the pile of presents.
"Mommy, look!" Wednesday exclaimed, holding up a headless doll. "That's so nice, baby!" I said, genuinely meaning it. The pot roast in the oven smelled delightful. It was nearly lunch time.
Across the room, Pugsley screamed when he unwrapped a new DS. That was all he had been able to talk about since nearly October. Gomez sat next to him, a steaming cup of coffee in his hands. I winked at him and gestured to Wednesday, who was holding a DS herself.
Hey, we had to be fair!
After the kids were done opening presents, Gomez led me outside. "I know how badly you wanted to be able to go wherever you wanted...especially considering our, um, situation. So I got you this."
He pressed a button, which opened the garage door to reveal a brand new car. A Mercedes, to be specific, but who cares? I had wheels, I was free. No more being stuck in the house.
"Oh my gosh! I love it, Gomez!" I wrapped my arms around his neck and smiled. "You're the best." He hugged me and kissed the top of my head. "I'm glad, Tish."
We walked inside, both of us still a little hung-over from the party we'd held last night. We had risen pretty far on the social totem pole since our official wedding. My dress was on the cover of LA Brides, Gomez's house had been featured as one of the most innovative.
Wednesday was booting up her DS. Both Pugsley and she had received a copy of Mario Bros for their game systems. They reminded me of my own when I was a little girl, before my parents had disowned me.
Gomez walked over to play with them. As he sauntered around on the floor like a little kid, I reflected on the past half-year. So many things had changed-I was married to a loving, wonderful man, with two kids and another on the way!
Though I had begun to feel sickly, I assumed it was because of the baby. Weren't babies supposed to make you feel a little nauseous? I supposed so-I had had my fair share of that lately.
Gomez had been so supportive and helpful. I didn't know what I would do without him.
Waking up next to him, being his, succumbing to his wonderful kisses and gentle hugs-I would not give him up for anyone or anything in this world. He was my all in all, my rock. I would not have made it this far in my remedial journey without him.
I stopped smoking after I found out I was pregnant. It had been extremely hard at first, being that cigarettes were my security blanket. Gomez had given up the habit to encourage me. I hadn't touched a single cigarette since July.
The baby was due in a few months. If it was a girl, I was going to name her Lily, a boy would be named Luc. Gomez had picked both of the names.
Personally, I really wanted a daughter, but fate would decide. There was nothing I could do on that part!
Lunchtime would mark our family's private Christmas dinner. The kids played with their new toys until the pot roast was done.
I busied myself with setting the table. We were using Gomez's mother's fine china, the kind that only saw the light of day on Christmas and maybe Thanksgiving.
It was old and very expensive. I felt like a princess just handling it, though that was silly.
Once the table was set, I called the kids and Gomez over. They sat down, fidgeted a bit, and we began to eat. Gomez and I smiled at each other over the table when Pugsley called me Mama. I felt very loved. My heart was so filled with joy in that moment.
I knew that, even through the struggles I'd had for three long years, I was loved. That job ad changed my life, Gomez himself changed my life and made me into a society lady, something I never thought I'd be.
Instead of Wednesday living off of soda and happy meals, she never had to worry about being hungry.
And that was something I loved to live with.
