It really is quite interesting, how an organism smaller than the size of the tip of a human hair, can bring down a whole society. Sometimes, It amuses me how Humans think they're so mighty, yet, they die so very easily. It really is quite amazing.

Society was at its height in the mid 21st century. Technology was at its most advanced. Quantum Computers really are the "norm" and everything was in a stable equilibrium. At least, that's what we thought. Little did the world know that a man was plotting their downfall. This man, is Dr. Bob Gallant. A leading figure in the field of virology.'

Dr. Gallant sighed. He was sitting on his old, leather couch, watching the TV blare with the morning news.

"Reports of a terrorist attack on Wall Street has been confirmed. Authorities are asking that anyone with knowledge of this can report this to your local Police Department. " A sketch of he suspect comes on the screen.

"What has this world become?" Dr. Gallant thought.

He got up, stretching his arms. He was still in his pajamas. He walked over to a nearby window and took a quick look. The snow gently fell from the sky and landed on the ground. Frost nearly covered his whole window and blurred most of his vision. But, he can easily make out people and cars passing by.

"Ah, New York, what a beautiful place to be in". Gallant said.

Gallant walked up the stairs of his 2 story-apartment and opened the door to his bedroom. His bedroom had a single bed in the middle, and shelves filled with research papers. He had a TV in the front of his bed and a few more papers on the desk on which the TV was sitting on. Of course, he wasn't going to lay down. He opened the door to his closet  and grabbed his coat off the hanger and put it on. He was going for a walk.

As he walked out of the driveway and along the sidewalk, he remembered what had happened a couple years ago.

"Dr. Tachyoshi, any progress on the batch AB-87?" Dr. Gallant said.

"AB-87 is still in the supply department, heard they're getting rushed." Dr. Tachyoshi replied.

Dr. Gallant sighed. "How about BC-67?"

"Ah, we've managed to sequence its whole genome in about 1 hour using the latest X-24 Quantum Computer" Dr. Tachyoshi said with a smug grin on his face.

"Incredible, can this be replicated with other batches?" Dr. Gallant asked.

"Indeed, I heard Lab D is conducting the same experiment, but with batch BA-45."

"Brilliant, prepare batches AB-1 to ZX-99 for speed sequencing".

"Alright, will do, Gallant."

That moment changed everything. After walking for 10 blocks, Dr. Gallant arrived at the local TV store. A crowd was gathered around, watching the presidential inauguration. William Hershal won the general election against Don Tramp. Gallant never really liked politics, he thought it was just a waste of time. He was a man of solitude and integrity. As Gallant continued through New York, he saw the slums of the West Side. Filthy, and underemployed people occupied the streets, like the people occupied Wall Street.

He began thinking about the world. Seven billion people, live on Earth. 40% of our food is wasted every day. Hundreds of people die every day without that food. Millions live in poverty. The world has become too populated. Politicians have failed trying to figure out a solution. Gallant never really trusted Politicians or the Government. He always liked to do everything himself. This time, he had a solution.

Gallant quietly slipped past university security. He always thought they were crap at their jobs, and they were. He ran down the halls of the biology department. He scanned his keycard, and entered the lab. Dr. Tachyoshi had left the X-24 on, analyzing the batches he ordered him to work on. He walked to the huge boxes of CPUs, Ports, and Operating systems. He plugged his flash-drive in, downloading the necessary files. After 5 minutes of waiting, he was typing furiously on the nearby PC. He had a plan and it will work. He knew it, for certain.

"'C'mon, C mon," Gallant prayed.

A ding was heard, and he unloaded the flash drive. He put it in his pocket, knowing it will change the world. He quickly exited the lab and snuck past security. He sprinted to his apartment, and unlocked the door. He had entered his bedroom and swiped all of his research files of his desk, and replaced it with a laptop. He had conducted his work from his home before, and began coding a set of sequences.

"Rabies here, Ebola there, Malaria here, some H1-N1 here, a pinch of Yellow Fever here, and some Dengue Fever here." Dr. Gallant said.

"This, is a recipe for disaster," Dr. Gallant said with a grin.

He slowly saved his filed and left it in his drawer. He hopped into the bed, thinking of the possibilities of what could come next.
