I stared at the crazy Muggle life. Everything seemed complicated at sight and I felt quite bad for them to be doing all this without magic.
Nevertheless, my brother Zeke looked at it like it was the most magical thing in the world and if he glanced away just one second , all would disappear before his eyes which was not the case since Muggles couldn't Apparate.
Mum and Dad looked around curiously , their fingers laced together.
"What is so interesting about those Muggles?", I asked.
They all looked to me as if I was an alien.
"Muggles are very civilized creatures don't you think?", Mum asked.
"I couldn't agree more?!", I exclaimed.
Mum frowned and shook her head in disapproval.
"Sarcasm is driving you kids insane these days!!! Who invented this affair?"
I couldn't help but grin . Sometimes, mum got weird over normal 'civilized stuff.
"Zeke taught me."
Zeke rolled his eyes and smirked.
Just like dad, Zeke had earned our father's dark shiny hair, although he had mum's teal blue eyes. At the age of 13, he was a complete replica of our dad.
Unlike him, I was the complete opposite of my parents from birth to now.
I didn't have my mum and dad's hair or their eyes. I didn't even look like my great aunt Maryse. Or anyone from my family.
Instead of mum's caramel colored hair, mine was more of a light auburn. My eyes were emerald green though.
My mum flipped her short brown hair over to the side. Zeke adjusted his over gelled hair. My dad stared awkwardly at the Muggles who were passing by staring at the thing they called a phone.
I seemed like the only one who was normal.
I noticed a crowd of red haired people. They all seemed familiar to me. It took me a second to realize who they were. But mum's reaction was faster.
"Molly! Arthur! Is that you?", she waved at them. The Weasleys came rushing at us. As parents shook hands, us, kids, stared awkwardly at each other.
I was friends with Ginny and Ron but the rest of the siblings weren't on a particular happy ground with me.
When I was 5, Bill made my birthday cake explode ( He had just gotten the Trace off and was over excited).
Charlie did the same thing except he set it on fire.
Percy rarely talked to me as if I was invisible.
Fred and George put an Extra spicy Bertie Bott's Every Flavor Beans in my cat's food basket and she ended up choking.
Ron and Ginny were the only ones I could find easy to adapt with.
Since they weren't talking to me, I started to talk about my vacation in Sweden. I was halfway finished until Ron broke my story.
"Aren't you even the slightest bit nervous, Amy?", he asked. He definitely looked like he was going to puke.
"No."
I wasn't nervous... At all.
"There we are... Platform 9 3/4!", announced the shrilling voice of Mrs. Weasley.
We all knew what was next. I then noticed a boy about my age standing alone in front of Platform 9. He had dark wavy black hair in a (in my opinion) very bad haircut. He had round cracked glasses and was particularly skinny. His shirt and trousers were way too big and sprung in rolls. By the looks of his trunk, he was going to Hogwarts.
I walked up to the boy and started talking.
"Hi."
He seemed surprised.
"Are you lost?"
He nodded.
"Well, come with me, I know the way."
We started walking towards the end of the platform.
"By the way, I'm Amelia, but most people call me Amy . And you are?", I asked.
"Harry Potter."
I gasped.
Harry Potter.
As in Harry Potter?
But my curiosity and surprise was drowned by the sound of my mum calling me.
"Follow them, they'll show you the way.", I nudged at the Weasleys.
Harry Potter nodded.

I sat in the train alone . I contemplated the sky and watched the platform move farther and farther from my view. In the first time of my life... I think I actually felt...nervous!? What if I'm in Slytherin? Would it matter to my parents?
Suddenly, the compartment door opens. A boy with shiny blond hair stands behind it. His dull grey eyes piercing. Just by his looks you could see that he was one of those rich boys who could afford practically anything and has his clothes tailored everyday.
"Is this seat taken?", he asked, gesturing to the other side of the compartment.
"No."
He sat down.
"I'm Draco Malfoy and you are?"
"Amelia Ross."
My voice was barely a whisper. Still he heard me and pulled out his hand and I shook it.
"What house are you hoping for?", he asked.
"I don't know. I mean...My family's pretty...diverse.", I lied.
"I reckon I'm in Slytherin. Whole family's reputation. You know...Disappointment and stuff.", he continued.
My brother then barged in.
"There you are! I've been looking for you everywhere!", he said.
"Well, clearly your eyesight is horrible.", I replied, receiving a slight smirk from Malfoy.
Zeke noticed the boy sitting in front of me.
"What are you looking at? I know I'm rather impressive but it's not polite to stare.", Malfoy replied, smirking dramatically.
I couldn't help but burst into laughter turned into a coughing fit.
My brother pulled me out of the compartment.
"Hey! What was that for? I'm sorry if I laughed at you, okay", I protested.
Zeke glared at me as if I had said that hedgehogs could fly.
"Good heavens, it's not okay! Draco Malfoy? What the bloody hell were you thinking?", he shouted.
"What's wrong with you? ", I asked.
Zeke prepared to turn away but I grabbed him by the arm.
The last words he said to me before he left were: "Don't trust that snake, or you'll regret it..."
And all I said that day was "Boys..."
It turned out to be the worst mistake in my life.

Why do you think Zeke said that?
