prologue of [ paige ]
The extremely thick book fell on the dusty desk with a 'HOOMPH' making the short female with reddish brown hair flinch slightly in her seat.
"Come on! You don't expect me to read that whole book by next week, do you?"
The person who'd dropped the book on the desk, a girl who was also short with shiny black hair, frowned, flicking the other girl on the nose.
"Ow! Paige that hurt!" The reddish brown haired girl whined, stomping her feet lightly on the ground. If they weren't in a library she'd probably make even more of a scene.
"Stop boo-hooing and maybe start reading the book? You don't have much time and if you want me to do what you offered then you better complete my challenge first." The black haired girl (Paige as the other person had called her) spoke intensely, a passionate fire burning in her eyes.
Then under her breath, Paige muttered, "I only do favours for those who are worthy."
The girl stared at Paige for a few more seconds before she started snickering to herself. "You're so intense Paige, maybe you aren't worthy enough of doing me a favour."
Paige glared at the girl, but it soon vanished while a smug one replace it. "If I'm so 'unworthy' then why did you spend three days begging me to even give you a small chance of having me do you a favour. Think twice before you speak, Farren." The last word rolled off the Paige's tongue as if it were venom, silencing the argument as she walked away, leaving Farren sitting alone at a dusty desk, staring frustratedly at the thick book.
