chapter one of [ paige ]

"And... BOOM, LAST PAGE OF THIS BOOK IS FINISHED!" Farren exclaimed grinning widely as she confirmed that the only thing now for her to do to get Paige to do her a favour was bring the book back to Paige and tell her what the favour she wanted her to do was.

Farren picked up the book that she had just finished and grabbed the notes she was going to give to Paige for the favour and began to go to the garage the get her bike to ride to the black haired girl's house.

As she kept on pedaling on her bike to the house Farren couldn't help but think of the possibilities that could happen to stop Paige from doing her the favour. "No, Paige is going to do me the favour because I completed her challenge, I really need to stop worrying so much." Farren kept repeating that over and over again to herself as she kept pedaling and pedaling to Paige's house.

"Ah, here we are!" She exclaimed as she parked her bike in the driveway of the house that Paige would (hopefully) be waiting in. Farren hastily made her way up the steps to the door as she put a small grin on her face for when she'd see Paige.

She pointed out her pinky finger and rang the doorbell, Farren had a weird habit of ringing doorbells with her pinky finger, and felt her nerves calm down a tad when the high-pitched "ding-dong" rang through Paige's house. "Huh, that's weird..." Farren muttered to herself after Paige' hadn't answered, even though it was the afternoon and probably over half a minute had passed from when she rang the doorbell.

"Well, she probably just didn't here me!" Farren came to that conclusion and pressed her pinky finger to the doorbell again, fixing the somewhat forced smile on her face as the familiar sound rang through the house. After about fifteen to twenty-something seconds of waiting for Paige to answer the door, Farren's eyes lit up as she heard fumbling very close to the door.

As the thick door swung open Farren grinned as widely as she could and yelled happily "Paige! Oh my god I thought you were gone or something for a second there!" (Though it really like 'Paige!' and then a messed up jumble of quickly murmured words to follow up the only word actually understandable in her sentence.) Farren's eyes finally adjusted to the figure in front of her and she couldn't stop her face and ears from turning a very bright shade of red when she realized that Paige was not in fact in front of her and instead it was an old women that resembled Paige.

"Oh! You must be talking about my daughter, well, er, you see..." The old lady that Farren assumed was Paige's mother suddenly got very stutter-y and acted all sad-like.

"Um, Mrs., what happened to Paige? Was it something bad?" Curiosity and worry sparkled and Farren's eyes and she was pretty sure that the old lady could tell too that she cares about Paige a lot and would be devastated if something bad were to happen to her.

Paige's mother scratched the back of her neck and shuffled her feet a little, similar to what a horny teenage boy would do if he got caught jacking off to lesbian hentai.

"Um, er, this might be a little shocking but..." Farren nodded at the lady's words with sad eyes, urging her to continue what she was saying. "When you said you almost thought Paige was gone - or something - you were correct; sometime after 10 p.m. when I put her to bed, Paige must have left or been kidnapped because when I woke up this morning Paige was nowhere to be seen, and I checked everywhere, I promise you I'm not lying and that I looked in every possible place, even the police came and checked it out."

Paige's mom kept rambling on and on about how was so so sorry and how she didn't know that Paige even had any friends and how she would've loved to have a proper introduction when she met her first friend but Farren didn't care; her body had shut down after the words "you were correct" left the mother's mouth.

After a few more minutes of rambling and Farren being in complete shock, she stiffly stood up, almost exact to how a robot would and said only five words in a cold, empty tone.

"I'm going to find Paige."

And then, before the shocked mother could snap out of her trance and try to convince Farren that the police were on the case and that even though she was Paige's only friend and probably care deeply about her she did not need to go on her own quest to find her, Farren was already out the door rushing to get on her bike and drive home so she could start packing for the probably long journey ahead of her.

And that is how this absurd tale of a head over heels in love girl left home to find a girl that probably didn't even want to be found.
