Today was here. I was planned to stop this reversal once and for all. Even then something else will probably rise, but that didn't matter. I didn't care as long as I could stop this thing and bring myself relief, even if it would just be temporary. It was time to get ready for school.

On the announcements yesterday, it was said that morning and after care wouldn't continue anymore. Band after school stays up though, so we'll still have that. I waited outside until we were let in and I went to breakfast. It looks like they're actually cooking the donuts again. So I'm eating them again. At the table Meggan showed up and told us that Paola was sick and wouldn't be there. Nyla also showed up and Meggan gave her some skittles. She arranged them by color and I watched her organization. She must have assumed that I wanted one, because she gave me one. I don't actually like skittles, but I ate it anyway. My tooth has been sensitive to candy though, so I regretted eating it with that side of my jaw. Outside there was nothing much that isn't the average morning and in Ms. Burgess we continued doing Algebra 2. Ugh, I can't believe we actually have homework. Ms. Dunkley had us continue the ups check. I went to go sharpen my pencil and hugged Jaalyn on my way back. From behind I heard Jenya say "Goals." Toward us. I had to sharpen my pencil again because Purple snapped the tip of it at that moment. Other than that the class was fine. Dr. Baker's class came next. The first class of the day that I share with Nyla.

Nyla: Paola's not here. Jose's not here. I have no coping method.

Gray Malachi: .... You have me!

Recently I've been doing my best to try to cheer Nyla up when she's sad. And only when she wants me to help. It's important to respect someone's wishes if they just need some alone time. Later on Nyla offered me some cotton candy. Remembering this morning, I declined the offer. Cotton candy isn't my thing anyway. Too sweet. I prefer sour candies. Then I thought about making sour cotton candy. It doesn't sound that hard. Maybe. As always now in the class, we continued watching Roots.

Malachi: Man, this movie is sad.

PPS: Did you... Expect this movie to be happy?

Spreadsheets again in Ms. Cleare's class and Ms. Williams told us to do what we did yesterday. I went on tenmarks and everything was 5 days past due. It wouldn't bother my grade much so I didn't mind. I mean, other people had assignments 75 days past due. At lunch there wasn't any chocolate milk, and that sucks. It would've been great if it wasn't for that. On our way back to lunch I think Jahrell bumped into Ms. Williams or Nyla and the three were in a bad mood afterwards. When I got to band I noticed Laiylah was also upset. Somewhere in my head, it seemed like a conscience spoke out to me. "Offer her a hug. It may not fix her problems but it will temporarily boost her mood." the voice said to me. So I did. Eventually Ms. Fergials went over the theme of Musicology again. She said we should dress in things that represented shows and such.

Ms. Fergials: Just don't have things like "Rest in peace Ray Ray, or rest in peace Pookie."

Red Malachi: You know I had a dog named Pookie.

Purple Blue: Had

Osama: So dark.

Someone suggested that Ervans and Jahrell be thing 1 and thing 2 but I wasn't yet sure what I would be. Ms. Williams came into the class. After we warmed up, Ms. Fergials and her were talking, but I couldn't hear their conversation nor was it any of my business. I assume it was for Faculty Versus Band, which was a song we played that needed teachers to participate. My suspicions turned right and we took Faculty Versus Band to help Ms. Williams understand how and when she'd play in the actual performance. After the class and we went on to 7th period, Laiylah talked to me.

Laiylah: Hey, thanks for realizing when I needed a hug.

Malachi: Oh, no problem...

Ms. O had to leave (even though she took forever to actually go) so we had Ms. Strachn sub in for us, but we stayed in Ms. O's room so we could use the computers for our project. Before she left she gave us actual guidelines to doing a playbill and said we couldn't do it on Hamlet. I had to start from scratch, but it's not like I did much on the original anyway. I could barely decide which one of Shakespeare's plays to do, since none of them looked interesting. I randomly chose one called King John, but I didn't like it and then I did Romeo and Juliet. Nyla mentioned that Paola did the same play for her playbill. Wait, weren't Paola and Nyla going to do the comic book? I guess they changed their minds.

There was band practice today, so I had to attend. I was just going through some songs at random points and was doing fine until I played an A natural instead of an A flat. Dr. Baker came in the class at that moment, asking about Faculty Versus Band. He was in the song last year and did really good at it, so he had to be in this one. Ms. Fergials was mainly focused on getting the main melodies and hard parts understood. Being a bass instrument, I rarely get the melody, so I sat there bored for a majority of the time.

Desvelo: Maybe we could dress as the cat in the hat. Since Jahrell and Ervans are thing 1 and thing 2, and you guys are sorta like a trio.

Sans: Also didn't we have a cat in the hat bow tie that you used for your Freddy Fazbear costume?

Malachi: Don't remind me.

Once practice was over I was happy as ever. Not because I disliked practice or anything, but I felt as happy as someone is when they think about the girl they have a crush on. That wasn't the reason I was so randomly filled with delight. It was that I knew how to stop the timeline from bringing back depression.

I finally knew.
