Romeo and Juliet. I had been reading this play up until 3am. I could've kept going, but felt that it was time to sleep. Once I woke up I wanted to get out of bed, but I kept being pulled back down into slumber. I got up eventually at 7:28. Last night Nyla told me that the playbill project was due today. It upset me so much, because for once I was actually trying to not be pushed up to the deadline like always. I told Ms. O to excuse any lateness or poor quality, because I was not aware of the deadline change. But she told me that I was fine since I hadn't been in her 7th period and hadn't been aware of it. Still, I did as much as I could, because it would be due the 26th, only a day after.

I was under the impression that it was cartoon day, and the 8th graders could wear anything cartoon related. It would have been yesterday, but the elementary visitors caused the school to hold it. That had made me think today would be cartoon day, right? Wrong. It was twins day. I wouldn't have anyone to twin with anyway. I suppose I was twining with Steven Universe, since I was wearing the shirt and jeans. I even have blue flip flops at home that would match. Why is twin pronounced with a W, when the prefix two has the W silent? At the table, some of us hadn't finished their project for Ms. O. Neither have I, but my time has been stretched. Nyla was offended that I got extra time, saying I was selfish for not asking if everyone else could have more time. Honestly, I didn't even ask for more time, it was just given to me. And Ms. O's reasoning was that I wasn't in class 7th period to hear about it. Nyla and the other band students were with Ms. Fergials too, so I would naturally assume that they got an extendment as well. Wait, maybe not Nyla, since she apparently knew about the date change somehow. I don't know, I'm just trying to worry about my own project. If anyone wanted more time they could've asked Ms. O, and it's not my job to do it for them. Matthew asked what 8th graders were wearing tomorrow. I replied saying that clearly I didn't even know what we were wearing today. Ervans was on a field trip with student council. When we went to our classes, I went to Ms. Dunkley, but she had a substitute I think. I asked the woman if she was our sub for the day. She kinda snapped back at me for no reason, stating she had to get what she was doing done. I realized it would have been one of those subs, and went to Ms. Burgess. I went straight to the computer and read Romeo and Juliet and added to my project. This is actually one of the times that I've worked last minute and actually enjoyed working. Romeo and Juliet was a very interesting play that kept me engaged, so focusing was never a problem for me. We went to the computer lab again. Jahrell and Paola watched Civil War while I worked on my project. I glanced over every once and a while but tried not to. Not because I thought of it as a distraction, but because I wanted to watch the movie myself without seeing spoilers of it. Still, I was working to the bone, but I thought I was near done. There were 3 acts and I was on act 2 of it. Then when I got to act 3, it didn't feel right. There was more of the story. There were 5 acts! I would've thought I noticed, but I only had up to act 3 prepared on the PowerPoint. Oh well, I'll finish eventually. The bell rang, but Paola and Jahrell were reluctant to go to 2nd period. So was I. They sent Jahgift to get a pass for all of us from the sub. Not only did I want to finish my work, but I definitely didn't want to deal with that substitute. Ms. Burgess brought in her 2nd period class, and we had to move seats because she had it arranged a certain way. The 3 of us sat in the back. Nyla came too, since she's in Ms. Burgess's class. I continued to work on the project. Sometimes PowerPoint crashed because I saved too much. Come on technology, do you want me to save or not save? In 3rd period, Elijah informed me that Ms. Dunkley's substitute made them write random numbers. I'm glad I skipped, because that would've been a pointless waste of time. Dr. Baker had us watch a documentary on Alex Haley. Nyla gave me a hug. It might just be me, but we seem to be hugging tighter than usual. I'm glad it's like that. Ylanie looked a certain way toward us. Jaalyn asked if we were dating and both of us said no. Nyla added that I can't exactly keep relationships.

Gray Malachi: Hey, that's not true!

Nyla: You said when you get in a relationship that you wait for it to end.

That's true, I have to admit. But, I've only felt this way toward Laiylah. I'm not 100% sure that it works for other people, but I do feel like it would, unless I find a girl that I can imagine myself marrying. I might even have had this effect toward Nyla, but I wouldn't want to waste her time by experimenting with my love and have it end up the same way. The way Nyla used that as her excuse though, it almost made it seem like that was the only reason we wouldn't date. Haha, I wish. If being akoiromantic was the only thing stopping me from being with Nyla then I'd get a conscience to learn how to stop this effect in a day. But maybe I can get a conscience like Gent to repair my romantic drive. 3rd period ended and 4th period started. Ms. Cleare said we could have free time. Perfect! Summarizing Romeo and Juliet actually reminded me of when I write these stories. They're in the same type of vocabulary (even though I don't always write that way) and when I check for errors, I'm not only checking grammar, I also check if I'm satisfied with how I'm presenting the information. In Ms. Williams I did the same thing. Romeo and Juliet. In band, Ms. Fergials was not there. She probably wouldn't be there tomorrow either. The substitute for her just let us chill. I heard someone in her 3rd period broke her monitor. She's definitely gonna be pissed about that, but she won't get on our case about it, since 3rd period did it, and 6th period couldn't do anything about it. For once I won't be yelled at for something our class did. Jean and some others were playing the piano quite excellently. I tried updating my story, since the last 2 days of late night work caused them to be late.

Nyla: Laiylah, Rascal's waiting for you.

Malachi: Hold it in, Rascal.

Why does she still think Rascal has a crush on Laiylah? Ever since his rebellion he gave up on that. He still tries to keep a friendship with her, though. Eventually I noticed my phone somehow had service, and I went to my internet browser to read the play. The Internet didn't stay, so I couldn't. I continued to write the story. In Ms. O's class, she was seeing projects. She told me that mine was due before midnight. I was working on it the very same moment. When I went home, I only worked on that. I managed to finish before 10:00 even.

With that done, what's the next thing to worry about?...

Oh right.

Graduation.
