I wake up before my alarm, the smile from last night still lingering on my face.
"Chlo, what are you doing?" Aubrey asks in a sleepy voice while I make breakfast. Aubrey sits at our table. I make her a plate and set it I front of her.
"Making breakfast silly," I tell her in a chipper voice.
I go back to make my own plate and sit down across from Aubrey. "So," I start, trying to figure out the best way to tell Aubrey that I am indeed going to go see Beca. "Exactly what days am I getting off?" I finish hoping maybe she's still too tired to catch on to my awkwardness. Unfortunately that's not the case. As soon as it clicks with her why I'm asking, a mischievous smile takes over her face.
"No wonder your acting like a love stricken high schooler! Beca wants to see you!" She exclaims.
I feel my face turn a deep shade of red. Aubrey giggles at my embarrassment as she says, "how about you take Friday through Sunday?"
My eyes get wide, "Aubrey that's over a week!" Can she really afford me not being at work for that long?
"I'll take care of everything here do you can take care of everything over there," she says with a wink.
I smile at the thought of being with Beca. I pull out my phone and text Beca the dates of my vacation. I only have three days until Friday. I make a note to book a flight on my lunch break so I can try to at least book a good flight.
The best flight I could get was a 3 a.m flight that would only take two hours on Friday morning. I'm sure Beca's not going to be happy about picking me up that early so when I text her the details of my flight I make sure to offer buying coffee. Knowing I'll be by Beca again soon makes it easier to sleep, but I would kill for the days to go by fast.
