Chapter 1: The Begining
Once, in a far away land, lived a boy named Mario. He lived in a small little cottage with his mother, Dina. He was sweet, did all of his chores around the house, and helped his mother make dinner. They didn't have much but they always had each other. When Mario turned 12 his mother took him to the nearest village to pick something out for his birthday. It was a small village named Keenaberry. There were many children playing outside with sticks and stones and Mario asked his mother if he could play with them. His mother said yes and Mario ran over.
"Hi I'm Mario," He said smiling, "Can I play with you?" He asked.
Everyone stared at Mario with big curious eyes.
They asked "Where did you come from?" and "How old are you?"
Mario was swarmed by questions and got confused, then he noticed that there was one girl who wasn't asking questions. It was a girl in a pink dress with white ruffles at the end. She was wearing a pearl necklace and pearl earrings. Her hair was up in a bun with a pink bow on her head. She was carrying a book that had a letters on it. The letters spelled out "Linsey". She was staring at him with a look on her face that Mario didn't understand. She didn't look confused or sad. She didn't look mad or annoyed. All she did was smile a tiny smile until a man in a deep voice yelled.
"Linsey, we must go or you father will be very mad that you are late."
The girl turned and walked down the street and turned around the corner. "Her name must be Linsey" Mario thought in his head. By then everyone had stopped asking questions and was looking Mario and then at the girl, then Mario, then at the girl, then Mario, then back at the girl. They all had their mouths wide open and stood there in awe.
One boy whispered "Come with me."
Mario followed the boy, he had a cap on that was torn in the front and he was not wearing any shoes. He was shorter than Mario. They stopped at the end of an ally way.
"What did you say your name was?" The boy asked.
Mario replied, "Mario."
"Well," The boy said "My name is Mason nice to meet you."
The boy held his hand out.
Mario shook it and said, "Nice to meet you too."
Chapter 2: The Friendship
Mario was still confused about why the children were asking so many questions.
"Do you know who that girl is?" Mason asked.
"No, why are you asking?" Mario replied.
"That is Linsey Channel. She is the most popular girl in the entire village. And she never looked at anyone in the way she looked at you."
Mario was confused about the girl.
"Is that something I should be concerned about?" Mario asked.
"No, not at all," Mason replied, "That can mean two things, she thinks you are a gross weirdo, or she likes you."
Mario stood confused. He had never been to the village before and he was already confused about life at the village. He was lost in his own thought when he heard his mother yelling his name.
"Mario where are you? We need to go and pick out a present, the shops are only open for a little longer."
Mario said bye to Mason and ran to his mother.
