Iz was still asleep on the couch when Danny rudely woke him up. He had called his parents and convinced them not to drive until it'll no longer snow. He and Iz would be okay.
Iz grunted and stretched the blanket over his head. Danny pulled it.
"What do you want?" Iz said on a thick sleepless voice.
"You will not take her from me." Danny was direct. "Not without a fight."
Iz's eyes opened wider. He yawned.
"I don't know what you're talking about but do it in about three hours." He requested lazy.
"In three hours you'll be in your bed." Danny pointed out. "Now I'm really done with this. I don't want you here anymore. I don't want my parents to look for you. I don't want your help anymore. None of it."
"What happened to you?" Iz forced himself to wake up and stand upright; the situation seemed worse than before.
"I just want you to know that you've no chance against me. You've told her but you've done a great favor to me, girls can't resist the dying guy..."
"Don't talk like this." Iz argued him.
"I'm talking how I please about myself. It's my body, not yours. Understand that already. It's me and only me. Stop looking so blazed, so injured. It's not your pain but mine."
Iz could not believe what he was hearing. First, his best friend had told him that he didn't need his protection and he understood him, he left him alone, but now he couldn't swallow this shit. He wasn't stealing his damn glow. On the contrary.
"You're a freak." Iz imputed. "Who considers his disease a way to be loved?"
"I'll do anything. I love her."
"Really?" Iz disconsidered.
"What do you mean really? I don't know what I feel? Perhaps some of my senses are altered but there's nothing wrong with my heart!" Danny came out strong.
"I was referring that loving means to be loved."
"A, it's love anyway you slice it and B, you cannot actually tell me you know what's in her heart."
"And you think I want her? I love her?"
"I don't know how you feel but I know you want her." Danny was sure.
"And you think you can fight me for her?"
"Yeah." Danny showed sure again.
"No more friendship? That's it? All those years since kindergarden? Let a girl come between us?" Iz questioned his allegion.
"Only if you want this. But she'll remain with me."
"She'll remain with you only because I stayed away. Until now." Iz had to teach his friend a friendship lesson.
"So this is what you want?" Danny didn't seem sure anymore, he hadn't expected Iz to provoke him.
Iz remembered what Dalma had said about him living his life. Danny found in that a game and he seemed eager to succeed. Another thing for him to do in the future. He was down for this.
"Okay." He said entering the game. "Let's do this. Let's see who wins. No more mercy." He stated.
Danny looked at him with big surprised eyes.
"No more." He said strongly.
Iz took the blanket. He wasn't going to give up its heat.
"You'll drive me crazy someday." He murmured walking towards the door.
