"I'll be back by 8:30" I told my dad as I got my house keys. "Okay be careful honey, I love you!" "Love you too bye". I locked the door and got on my bike, maneuvering around the sidewalk to get to the road. I planned on going to a book store then sit and read for a while in their outdoor hangout. It was currently 6:30, so I had an hour and a half. I was pretty close to Half Price Books when I saw my friend Christian from school. He yelled my name. "Destiny!!" Running over to the sidewalk I was driving in, he gave me a hug and I returned the favor. "Nice seeing you!" He said as he walked off. I waved goodbye and continued driving. After two minutes, I finally arrived. I locked my bike on the rack, making sure it closed good. 3 more years till I get a car! Can't wait until my 18th birthday :).
I went inside, smelling the beautiful ( just in my imagination) scent of books. I greeted Lisa, the cashier, and also my cousin. Another great reason to shop here :D! After engaging in small talk, I started towards the "Fantasy" section. I just loved reading those kind of books, taking me into a world of happiness. But the ending.. Jeez! They slap me back into reality. "Chesapeake Love". The cover was of a girl sitting in a tree swing, just above a tree house. I picked it up, reading the author's note. "Chesapeake Love is a romance, suspense, and horror all in one. Mindy falls in love with her dad, only to hate him later on when he rejects her. Who will survive at the end?" Okay, that gave me the chills. I like it!! Not really a fantasy but.. maybe it's time to try something new. I go in line to pay, making sure I'm in the one Lisa handles. She gives me a 50% discount (yay) and I go outside, trying to find a nice place to sit. I'm the only one outside, so I sit in the huge sofa. Scratch that, I lay down in it, taking up all the space. It was already 7:30, so I got an hour to read and relax! But right when I opened the book to the 1st page, I hear rustling and the CRUNCH CRUNCH of the autumn leaves. "Oh, it's just my imagination ready to read." I think to myself. But no, I was wrong. Someone grabs me from behind. I try to scream but their hand is over my mouth, with a rag on it... that smells...
