Prolouge

This is the story of how I died- twice. You can all ask your questions on it- "Was it scary?", "Didja meet G-d?", "How'd it happen?"- later. First, I have a story to write.

My literature teacher says the key to hooking an audience is to open up with a killer sentence. Well, those are the terms I use. In teacher terms it was something more like,

"Set out the bait-a nice juicy opener- and lure them in, hook, line and sinker."

I apologize for his comparing y'all to fish. He means no harm, he simply speaks in metaphors.

Anyway, if you're still reading I guess it means Mr.Teech- yeah, with a name like that I guess he had no choice but to go into that field; it was his only future-was right about one thing in all his teachings. I usually disagree with him, like when he says Will Shakespeare ( he seriously calls the guy Will, something my lit teacher last year warned us severely never to do) was the best author to ever grace the face of the earth.

I've got two complaints against that.

There could be greater authors out there, floating around outer space and they've never graced the face of the earth just cause of a dumb little thing called gravity and

Rick Riordan is way better. He writes in normal English- and sometimes greek- plus he's got the added bonus of being alive so people can ask him questions about his books if they don't understand something, unlike good ol Will whom I've got a million questions for and he can't answer a single one of em.

Another thing Mr.Teech says is to start off at the beginning of a story and not just jump right into the part where the hero dies.

"Circumstances," he says. "How did the hero land up in that situation? What is his background? Does the hero have any friends with him to lay his body to rest?"

He makes a good point, which is only the second he's ever made so I apologize to all those who want to know right away how I died but I'm going to start all the way back at the beginning- where I died for the first time.

Spoiler alert: It sounds a lot more impressive when I say I've died twice but really, the first time I died was in a way any of you can do too of you've got any sort of gaming device.
