t r e s - Droplets of my misery

"Zzzt Zzzt Zzz Zzzt" I groaned, slamming my hand onto my alarm. It just had to be Monday morning. I got up after laying like a pancake for a few minutes staring at the ceiling. I brushed my teeth and got changed. I walked downstairs and made myself breakfast; 2 scrambled eggs and some bacon.

"I'm going to school! Have a good day Nanna." I yelled at no one in particular since Nanna was probably still asleep at this evil hour.

I walked to school, trying to avoid the wannabe's and flirty boys that flaunted their rides. Being popular had it's perks, but some of the girls try too hard for the boys.

I managed to get to the school gate without being bombarded with questions or being offered a ride in the dirty cars.

"Heya" I heard Bree chirp.

I gave her a slight wave and a smile.

We made our ways to our lockers which were completely coincidentally next to each other. I pulled my binder for French out and chatted quietly with Bree till the bell rang. "Cya at lunch Kay" She said. I waved at her and my way to the French room. I took my usual seat and waved at Jascy when she walked into the classroom looking stunning as usual.

Jascy had this thing about her where you felt really at home and able to be yourself.

French blew through like a breeze, pretty quickly, just before lunch, there was a message on the intercom. "Stella Phelps, ease report

to the reception immediately" The receptionist said in an extremely monotonous voice. I put my heavier items in my locker and then swiftly made my way to the reception.

"Can you go through to the principal's office please?" She said sympathetically.

What had I done this time? I haven't done anything wrong in a semester.

I walked to see the principal, Mr Ledlen staring at me.

"I'm sorry for your loss. I'm sorry I had to tell you this but your Grandmother has passed away" He said

I stood there shock ridden. What?! Nanna was going really well on her road to recovery. Even the doctors did too.

I felt droplets of my misery and shock shimmer in the light as they glided down my face. What just happened?
