.... REALM OF HELL ...
The fires of hell burned even brighter now as Ueyr's flesh began to burn. Thick plumes of smoke rose from his burning limbs as he struggled against his shackles.
Ueyr howled "Ten thousand years! Ten thousand years my body has been the coals for the god's furnace! Well no more! My revenge is finally at hand!"
As Ueyr howled as a black orb shot out of him, hovering there above his chest where his heart was. It shone with a dark purple glow as Ueyr bit his tongue and spat some blood on it. In response it began to shake and ignite itself with a black flame, this flame was different from the flames of hell as it did not generate heat but rather an endless void that seemed to suck in the heat that surrounded it.
With a grunt Ueyr bit off his tongue and spat out more blood as determination filled his eyes. A hissing sound filled the air as the blood turned into a red mist that tore a hole in the air. The black orb began to burn with increased intensity as the hole began to spin, creating a vortex that sucked in the orb and vanished into thin air.
A satisfied expression appeared on his face as he lay back on the jagged slab of rock that he had been strapped to for the last ten thousand years.
"Soon...".... THE REALM OF MORTALS....
That night, the sky was darker than usual as the moon was covered by the clouds as the scent of pine cones and honeysuckle wafted through the air as a gentle breeze blew over the village of Argon in excitement as if carrying news of a great blessing to come despite the darkness.
To the east was the village forest where victorious laughs could be heard as a group of hunters made their way back to the village, hanging on their shoulders were a variety of wild life that they had caught. To the front of the group a tall, well built man with a large strip of cloth that covered his left eye lead the group by torch light as he chatted with the other hunters.
"How yuh doin' in the back dey brotha? Need some help?" The man called out.
To the back of the group a rather skinny man trudged along, his face was covered in sweat as he gasped for air and stopped walking. A large deer hug over his shoulders as, with great difficulty he replied.
"N-no I... I'm good brother!"This man was the village priest. Normally he wouldn't be found outside the village temple however his wife had become pregnant. So her need for high protein meals became ever so prominent which added to her cravings of wild meat as well. along with his pregnant wife was also fact that the village harvest and the yearly sacrifice to various gods was nearing. As the village priest it was his duty to ensure the proceedings went smoothly. Everyone was required to sacrifice something during the yearly sacrifice, there would be no exception. Of course his new born son or daughter would be born soon after which would be even more of a reason for him to try and sacrifice something large in order to ensure that they would be born in good health. In order to do that he had to journey out with his brother and his band of hunters.
Despite his ragged breathing and bean sized beads of sweat that made his hair and long robes cling to his body; he was feeling quite proud. The deer that hung over his shoulder was the result of his hard work.
Unfortunately with his victory came loss. They had originally left the village with a large cart for the animals they caught, however, the deer that the village priest hung over his shoulders had been startled and in its panic ran into the cart and broke one of the wheels resulting in them having to carry their spoils themselves.
This, however, did not spoil his mood in the slightest. At this moment the priest's only thoughts were that he should hurry back to the temple and check on his wife however his thoughts were disturbed as he bumped into one of the hunters who was at the back of the group and fell onto his back. The weight of the deer help to pull him down; effectively knocking the wind from his lungs. The fall coupled with his exhaustion forced him to cough an extremely violent bout of dry coughing before passing out.
