Chap 3 Friends, Once Again

She looked back up and shook her head. "Nothing, nothing. Suddenly, I heard another voice from her side of the video. "Elizabeth! Get the f*ck down here now!!" the voice boomed. We both jumped and I looked wided eyed at Ellie. The voice was a mans voice. It sound loud, scary, and sounded really angry.

"Um, Ellie, who was that?" I ask suddenly suspicious.

She looked around frantically and then turned back to the screen. "Oh it was, no one." She replied quickly.

"Ellie.."

"Gotta go, bye!" she said closing her laptop. I sat there for a second so confused. Who was that man who yelled at her adn why was she so scared of it. we told eachother everything, was she hiding something? My thought were interupted by Julie callling in. I acept and saw her siting their with  a smirk on her face.

"So are you moving or what?" she asked bluntly.

"Wow, nice to see you to" I said a little bit taken back. She was not usually so mean.

"And yes, I don't have a choice and I am moving. What am I going to do? This sucks!"

She looked at my for a while then said, "Well just stay in England, you'll probably wanted there more than here."

"Excuse me?" I replied in shock.

She smirked then ended the chat. "Bye bye Annabeth"

I sat there completely stund. What happened to the Julie who was so happy, flirty, and loved being wierd? I feel like I have already missed 3 years of my friends life. Did I? What had happened? I felt like they have been keeping secrets from me. Suddenly, sitting there in my room, I had a funny feeling in my gut that things were going to change after I left.

This won't be the same after a leave.

I woke up the next morning in a bad mood. Something just wasn't right. I put on shorts and a purple quater-length shirt. I curled my blonde hair to perfection. I walked down stairs and grabbed a box of Lucky Charms.

I finished my brekfast and went updtairs to get ready. My dad alrady left to catch his flght (he was going ona business trip), my mom was in the shower, and knowing my brother; he was still asleep. 

I aplied my make-up, brushed my teeth, and finished the rest of  my morning routine, then walked to the bus stop. I saw Ellie and the memory of last night flashed through my mind. She was wearing a white hoody and short jean shorts with baseball socks. She looked very tired and worn out.

"Hey.." She said sounding a little unsure of herself.

'Hey! Whats up?" I replied. 

"Listen, about yesterday-" I intuerupted before she could finish.

" Ellie I am not sure what happened last night but I have a pretty good feeling that it is none of my business so lets just forget about it"

Ellie sighed, "Thanks I know I can count on you!"

"Oh course! Hey..." I hesitatedd, not knowing how to say it, "has Emily seemed a little... distant... with us lately? I mean she said a bunch of mean things to me last night. She accually told me that she was glad I was leaving"

Ellie looked confused, "Julie?" She asked. "As in our Julie? I'm not sure, let's talk to her in school today and we will ask her. Maybe she just isn't telling us something."

"Maybe.." I replied as I saw the bus turn the correr.

 ~~~~At School~~~~

First period, second period, and now third was already gone. This day has gone by quickly and yet no sign of Julie anywhere. We usually meet up at the lockers becuase we have forth period together but she was no where to be seen. Since she was not on the bus, we fingured that she got a ride with her brother Michael, who was a Senior, but we still couldn't find her. As I walked into  forth period Biology, I saw her. She was wearing light washed jean shorts and a white t-shirt. She look up at me then quickly looked away. Suddenly, frustration built up inside me and I marched over to her.

"Dude what the hell is your problem?"

She looked up at me, "I don't know what your talking about."

"You're are kiding me right? Do I have to remind you how much of a bitch you were to me last night?"

She stood up and looked me straight in the eye. I looked around and now half the class was in the classroom, watching us with curious eyes.

She let out a deep sigh and sat back down. She looked up and me again and patted the seat next to her, the seat I usually sit at. "Just please let me explain" She gave me a pleading look and I gave in.

As the rest of the class piled into the classroom and the bell rang, our teacher started his lecture about plant species, but i wasn't pay attention. I was too dazed to comprehend what he was saying. Julie didn't look interested either. I was still waiting for my explination.

The bell rang signling lunch and I stood up and walked out, not even bothering to wait for Julie like I usually do. I stopped at my locker and grabbed my lunch money. Ellie joined me and I looked over her shoulder. "You have company," I said as her boyfirend came up behind her, resting his chin in the crock of her neck and wrapping his arms around her. She giggle and looked back over at me. " We'll save you a spot at lunch" She said as they joined hands and walked toward the lunch room.

"Annabeth!" I heard my name being called from accross the hall. I looked over and saw none other than, Julie. She ran up to me and gave me a sad look. "Look, I am super super sorry about last night. I have just been having a tough time a home and I know you haven't done anything wrong, will you please forgive me?"

I looked at her unsure, "that still doesn't give you the right to say those mean things"

"I know, I know," she said looking down sadly. "Sorry"

"It's okay, now come on, we can't leave Eliie and Jason alone for more than 5 minutes or God knows what those little hormonal teenager will do."

She laugh and nodded as we walked toward the lunch room.

~~~~After School~~~~

"Hey Annabeth, will you help me take some pictures of the JV Basketball team for the school paper?" Julie asked me when we were walking out of the building. She was an amazing photographer and loved taking pictures.

"Sure, let me text my parents and tell tell them I will be home late."

"Okay, tell them my brother can take you home. He is picking me up."

We walked into the gym and my eyes landed on none other than Ryan Baker himself. I never relized he was on JV (junior varsity)! He looked over and saw Julie and me. He smiled his perfect smile and I waved back. The butterflies exploded in my stomach and I coudln't help but feel my cheeks heat up.

"Annabeth look out!" I look over at her and then felt a sharp pain in the back of my head before I felt the coldness of the gym floor rush towards my body.
