"What?!" I shout not believing what my father just said.
"Now Kelda I know you don't want this but-," he says trying to calm me down but I interrupt him.
"That's just it. I never wanted to have an arranged marriage!"
"Kelda calm yourself! This is our only chance of an alliance with the merfolks of the Pacific Ocean. The sirens are becoming more and more aggressive each day. You need to start thinking what's best for your people; especially when you are going to become queen of the Atlantic Ocean in less than a month. Do you understand?"
The funny thing is that never thought it about it that much. Me becoming queen of the Atlantic Ocean. What if I don't make a good ruler? What if war breaks out against merfolks and the sirens because of me? Will I be able to lead my people into war with my head up high? What if we lose the war? Don't worry Kelda you're going to be a kind loving and strong ruler I tell myself.
"Yes, father." Say disappointingly.
"Oh and Kelda."
"Yes, father?" I ask.
"Prince Kai and King Marlin of the Pacific Ocean will be arriving the day after tomorrow."
I gave a quick nod and swam away to my room. I never wanted this.
