Endearment

Zayn got up from the floor and headed to the door. All he could hear was his heart racing and his rapid breathing. He opened the door slowly but carefully. He stuck his head out to peak through the dark hallway. He looked down and a small smile formed on his lips. Liam was laying against the door with his hands on his lap. His mouth was slightly opened causing a drip of drool to escape his mouth. Zayn flicked the bathroom lights off. He squeezed through the opening so he wouldn't cause Liam to fall.

Little did he know Liam awoke when he heard footsteps reaching the door. He moved slightly so Zayn didn't worry much about Liam. Liam couldn't help but smile when Zayn turned for a quick second. He wiped the nasty drool from his now closed mouth. Zayn turned back around and jumped when he saw Liam's eyes staring intensely at  him. "How long have you been awake?"

Liam slowly got up, "I just woke up love." Zayn's mouth twitched upwards trying to contain his smile when he couldn't anymore, he let it show. Liam smiled back and held his hand out for Zayn to take. Zayn took Liam's hand and lead him to their bedroom. Liam's hands itched to rub his throbbing head. He knew he messed up because he knew what that meant. He was confused as to why Zayn wasn't yelling, crying or ignoring him. Zayn wanted to forget what happened.

In Zayn's mind it was all his fault for locking himself up in the bathroom. He was overreacting because Liam promised him that he would stop. He knew Liam loved to keep his promises even when before they would just be words formed into a sentence. Zayn pulled Liam on the bed and cuddled up to him. "Do you think we can stay....we just bought the place not that long ago," Zayn whispered to Liam with his eyes closed.

"Are you sure babe? For a short time living here many memories well nightmares have occurred. I don't mind spending a few extra bucks for a new place. Even so we can always make your building a studio apartment. The bottom can be your studio and the top could be your home. I'll do anything for you Zayn. I just want you to be comfortable," Liam whispered back while wrapping his arm over Zayn's tiny waist.

Zayn pulled the cover over them and took of his shoes by rubbing his feet together. "I'm sure. You know....nightmares will always be there reminding you of what has happened or your fears. I'll get use to it but I'm not going to let anyone keep me away from being happy. I love you Liam. I have loved you since 2012 when I got to know you better. I'll always love you because my heart beats for you and only you. I look at you, " Zayn turns to face Liam and looks him in the eye, "and I see my world. I see the eyes I feel in love with reminding me over and over again that I will always be in love with you. A man who has many flaws yet tries to mend things that he knows he can't. A man who has shown me what it feels like to feel pain but a man who has taught me to become stronger. In for anyone who could understand what happened. They would think I'm crazy for loving  you after everything. I am crazy. I'm crazily in love with you. I too will shout it off the rooftop because I too love you with everything I have."

Liam blinked a couple of times trying to keep the tears at bay.  How could he let something so stupid come between his love of his life. Soon he will marry this man and that's when he will be forever grateful to finally show everyone who Zayn belongs to and how he belongs to Zayn. Just that very thought causes Liam's heart to squeeze in joy for being able to hold Zayn like this. Liam could only kiss Zayn as the passion was let through him. As the passion devoured Zayn's soft lips as they shared how much they truly loved each other. No, their story is not ending. In a few months it will be another story to add to this one. The story of two men who conquered things that no one else, that they have known, has.

That's when Zayn Javadd Malik turns into Zayn Javadd Payne.
