Listen, listen, I know they always give cute little descriptions of stories on the backs of books, which is why I'm assuming you already know who I am. But you know how in TV shows and movies there's always the famous person who exclaims "do you know who I am?" at some poor defenseless hotel receptionist/waitress/etc.? I've always wanted to do that. So we're going to pretend that you didn't read the cute little description of my story so I can say that.
Do you know who I am?
No? Well why don't I tell you.
Mallory Milbourne. (Somewhere in history, 13-year-old Mallory shouts: "That's my name! Don't wear it out!") I'm not exactly the most intimidating person in the world—by that, I mean I'm even remotely intimidating. But that changes quickly once people get to know me. I don't want you to think that I'm a terribly awful and cruel person, but I don't let anything—or anyone—get in the way of something I want. Up until recently, that something-I-want was an acceptance letter to Princeton University. That's probably the best place to start this story.
