"Where's Isaac I haven't seen him since the funeral and that was over two weeks ago" Dani asks grabbing her books from her locker.
"He left. Don't know where his is, just know he left" Candice replies with a faint smile. Dani close her locker and looks at Quinn.
"I'm sorry. Are you ok?"
"Yeah. I'm fine" she says and walks to class. She clenches her books as she walks into the classroom.
"You don't have feelings for him?" Quinn asks as they sit down at there desk.
"No. I mean yes, but not any more. When we were in that room she made me show him my scars and she made him tell the reason he hates his dad. I didn't even know that" she explains taking a seat.
"You totally like him" Dani says. She shakes her head.
"No. Him being away isn't helping that. I need or needed to know he felt something too"
"Oh look its the slut. She has an addiction to drama or men" a girl says leaning in towards me. I give a fake smile and watch the board. "Oh. Does Candice not like to hear the truth?" she questions.
"Funny" she replies. She didn't care what they said about her. She cared what she thought of herself.
"Stop. You guys are bitches" a manly voice says. The voice sounded familiar to Candice but she couldn't make it. It was Ethan she thinks looking at the person that spoke she gives him a faint smile and he gives one back.
The bell rings and Candice stays after class waiting for Ethan.
"Thanks for doing that back then" she says smiling at him.
"No worries"
"Why would you do that?" she asks confused. She didn't deserve what he did just then for her. She didn't deserve anything nice, she felt she didn't deserve it.
"Dani told me everything. I may have been to quick to judge. I've known you for most of my life. I should have known better. I miss you. I hope you can give me another chance. I want another chance" he explains. She didn't know what to say she had missed him but she was feeling things for Isaac as well. She was hoping things would go slow so she could make up her mind and find where her feelings lied.
"Yes" she says clenching on to her books. He smiles which makes her smile and she walks out.

*a week later*
Candice walks in from a late night with Ethan, she sees a person asleep on the couch. She looks at the person confused trying to make out the body shape and facial features. But when she realises it Isaac she walks off leaving him in the dark room, on the small couch.
"Are you coming to Peekamoose Blue Hole today?" Quinn asks the morning after Candice saw Isaac on the couch.
"Yeah, definitely. Can wait. Is Dani?" she says fake smiling day dreaming.
"No she has an assignment she wanted to take it so you didn't have to be near Isaac. Hey have you spoken to Isaac yet?" she asks changing the conversation. She focuses on her and listens what she had to say but she could tell the subject was going to be a bit hard on her how she hasn't fully made up her mind on how she felt about either Isaac or Ethan- who she hang out with all week.
"No."
"Do you like him?" Quinn asks being sincere. She sees him peeping around the un-closed door.
"Yeah.Maybe I did. But that all went away will he was gone" she says looking at him and not Quinn. She stands up and walks out the door brushing her shoulder against his in an angrily way.
"Isaac?" Quinn says surprised. "Can I talk to you?" she asks patting down on the bed.
"Sure. It's not like I have anything better to do" he says walking into Candice's room and sits down on her bed.
"Why did you leave?" she asks looking at him.
"I needed some time to myself."
"Seriously? That is the most selfish thing I have ever heard. Her mother died Isaac. Her world was falling apart and you left her. What type of friend are you?"
-----
Candice looks at herself in the mirror, she had a black bathing suit looking at the faint scars that lied on her olive skin on her chest and hips. The scars on her hips were covered up because she had cut just under her hips but the slight scars on her chest could be seen ever so slightly up close.
She takes a huge breath and puts her faded blue denim overalls. The walk less than a mile to get to the spot but it was well worth it, the water and the waterfalls made it better. Quinn puts the chairs down with the cooler and bag with food. Isaac passes Candice as he unbuttons his shirt and puts it next to the pile of other people clothes. Candice watches him as he takes of his top.
"Quit staring" Quinn whispers while still managing to yell at her.
"Trying to figure out his deal" Candice replies looking at Quinn. "Why would he leave here?" she asks looking once more at him.
"He needed some time. Or at least that what he told me" Quinn explains as she looks at him too.
"Oh."
"He went home to see her but by the time he got there she had already killed herself."
"I need a drink" Candice says taking a huge breath.
"You can't drink your problems" Quinn yells as Candice walks away.
"I can try" she replies walking further away from Quinn and closer to the drinks. She takes a red cup and pour a small bit of beer into it. She drinks it and looks at Quinn who was still looking at her. "Happy?" Candice asks. Quinn nods. Candice rolls her eyes and unbuckles her overalls them pull them down to her ankles. She steps out of the overalls and walks up to the edge of a big rock. She waits for Ethan to swim by and she summer-salts into the water. She bounces up to the waters surface and swims over to Ethan.
"Hey" Ethan says smiling. "I'm glad we chose to be friends" Ethan explains. She smiles and hugs him. She pulls away and looks at him. "What was that for?" he asks.
"I just wanted to hug you" she replies and paddles to the side of a rock. She pulls herself up and stands up to get a drink. She walks past Isaac as he looks at her.
"Hey, Isaac and Candace. Can you guys grab some ice from the truck. Thanks" Quinn asks them both. Candace looks at him and rolls her eyes. She puts her overalls on and walks with Isaac to the car.
They walk in silence, looking at each other occasionally.
"Can you say something to me?" he asks. She stops and looks at him.
"Don't think if I could I would. I have tried all day to think of something to say to you" she says. "But. I can't."
"Why can't you say anything to me?" he asks looking at her curious and eager to find out.
"Because you hurt me. You hurt me and it was different this time. Only knowing you for a couple of months and then you leaving hurt me, it hurt different this time because it hurt more." she explains.
"I'm sorry."
"Don't be sorry" she says shaking her head. "Because you only came back because something happened and you can't go back. This was your last resort" she explains.
"My little brother died. Is that what you wanted to hear. I didn't want to be there any more. My dad basically killed him and my mom just sat there and watched. He was in so much pain, and I left him. Me and my dad killed him."
"We'll coming back isn't going to make you feel any better. You may have lost your brother but you lost another person long before." she explains and walks off.
