"Now you're making me feel guilty." Cole groaned, running his hand through his hair.
Eloise stammered a laugh. "Why would that be?"
"I was starting to blame you for not remembering me."
Eloise's eyes shifted towards the floor. "But it's partially mine. I should remember you."
"It's not your fault." Cole wanted to tell Eloise over and over she did not need to blame herself. He wanted her to feel good about herself.
Ring! Ring! Ring!
Eloise took out her phone from her pocket, her expression changing drastically when her eyes saw the name that appeared on the screen.
Cole did not want to be someone who was too curious but he could not fight the temptation to read the name on her screen.
Asher ♡
Cole's heart dropped. A rush of emotions conquered him; his eyes a tad bit teary.
"Answer the call, I'll be outside if you need anything."
Eloise nodded, turning her back towards the door as she glided towards the kitchen.
"Hi babe," Eloise greeted mirthfully.
Cole sat on the floor, his back on the wooden door. He closed his eyes not wanting the effect of his heart dropping to fall.

"This is Asher," Eloise introduced her boyfriend to Cole one evening at her house.
