''What took you so long?'' Lilly asked while Alex walked in and closed the door behind him. She was sitting in a rocking chair next to the staircase with Fluffels on her lap, whom she was petting. Gently rocking back and forward. ''Where is mom?" he asked and ignored her question. ''She's in town looking for a job. Did something happen Alex?" ''Oh no, nothing'' he said. He didn't want to tell her what he saw in the woods, because she might think he's just scaring her in payback for her scaring him that morning. So he just walked to his room without making eye contact with his sister.
''What the heck happened out there?'' she whispered in the ear of her bunny when Alex reached the second floor.
Lilly silently walked upstairs, stopped in front of his door and placed her ear against it. She could hear Alex. "Where is that stupid flashlight?" he whispered frustrated to himself. Lilly slammed the door open, Alex jumped at the sight of her. ''I need my flashli- dude!'' he screamed out and sat down in a hurry on his bed. ''Why can't you knock on the door before entering the room like a normal person? It's not that difficult, you know?'' he said sarcastic. Trying to sit comfortable, but not moving too obvious. ''Not sitting comfortable, Alex? What are you hiding," putting her hands on her hips. "Nothing!" he yelled back. Lilly frowned and looked him deeply in the eye for a minute. "Okay, if you say so." She said in a tone that Alex didn't like at all. She stepped slowly towards his bed, "then it will be no problem at all, if you'd stand up right now, am I right?" she looked at him with a creepy smile on her face. Alex was getting annoyed, but kept his face straight. Lilly kept looking sharply into his eyes.
''Alright, alright!" he said a little pissed, stood up and took his backpack from underneath his blanket. "I wanted to go outside to find out what I saw in the woods this morning. So I was packing some stuff." "What did you see?" Lilly widened her eyes. "Not much," he stepped towards his window and peeked outside. "It looked like there was someone standing there and watching me from behind those trees." He pointed out the direction with his finger, "It was right over there." Lilly walked toward her brother, "It?" she asked trying not to laugh. That sounded so like her brother, he has too much fantasy. "Yeah, I'm not sure what it was, it all happened so fast. But that's what I'm going to find out right now!" He swung his backpack over his shoulder and walked with big steps in the direction of his door. "Whoa! I don't think so." Lilly ran towards the door and blocked it with her hands and feet. "No, come on Lilly! Don't go and tell mom please, it's not even dangerous, I just need to-" "Hold your breath, Alex. You didn't think you were going out on an adventure alone, did you? Someone needs to look out for you." She handed him his flashlight, which she found on his night stand and smiled at her brother, on whom appeared a big grin on his face.
