****Jordan's POV (Again)****
The way i woke up was pretty much the opposite of yesterday. My cell phone decided that it was going to wake me up an hour early. I got out of bed, dressed in my boxers only, and walked to the kitchen for something to drink. Milk... Bottled Water... Ice Tea... Ah. Orange Juice. I took the carton of orange juice out of the fridge and drank it straight from the container.I saw my mom walk into the kitchen from the corner of my eye, but still kept drinking.
"Jordan Johnson! What have I told you about drinking out of the carton?!" She yelled at me, while I just stood there with a smile on my face. She says the same words every time I did that. The look on her face never got old.
I threw the carton in the trash and walked out of the kitchen quickly, leaving room in between my mom and I so she wouldn't slap me, and jumping over the back of the couch to land in the perfect position. I'm bigger than my mother, but she is feisty and can cause a lot of pain to a person if she wanted to.
I layed on the couch with my eyes closed, when I received a text. Hey. It was sent by a number I've never seen before.
Who is this? I sent the message, but they never replied.
I went to my room and picked out my clothes. My mom thinks i'm a girl because I take a long time picking out my outfit. I always remind her that she gave birth to me, so she should know that I'm not a girl.
I followed my normal everyday routine and met my mom in the kitchen to eat breakfast. She was staring at her cell phone, with a smile on her face. That means only one thing. Her boyfriend, Kenny, texted her. She has been so happy ever since she started dating Kenny. He was good for her. I don't remember ever seeing her smile after my father beat her and fled 8 years ago, until she met Kenny. I liked him. He made my mom happy and that's all that matters.
She looked up from her phone, to see me staring at her. A wide grin spread across her face.
"Good morning, Honey. How did you sleep?" I immediately knew something happened. She never acted like this.
"What happened?"
"So I don't get a 'Morning, Mom. I slept good, what about you?'" She replied, trying to look hurt.
"Morning, Mom. I slept good, what about you? Happy? Now tell me, what happened?" I replied, smirking.
She giggled a little before replying. "Well, I have good news."
"I kind of figured that."
"Shaynaa's coming home for 3 weeks tomorrow." She said. It sounded like she was about to cry.
My heart started racing and there were tears in my eyes threatening to spill over. "Are you serious?" I asked.
"Yes," she replied. The tears fell. Before I knew it, I was crying my eyes out. My mom took me in her arms, holding me tight, while she started crying, too.
"She's fine. The doctors said she would be able to come visit as long as someone is with her the whole time." I haven't seen my sister in over a year. She got into a 6 vehicle car crash caused by a drunk driver on her way home from visiting us last year. She broke 3 ribs and shattered her collar bone. Luckily, her husband, Kyle, was a doctor and was heading home from work only 3 miles away from the crash.
"I miss her so much," I said, trying to control my tears.
"I know. So do I." She let go of me and wiped the tears from my face.
I took out my phone to look at the time. 7:15 I decided i was going to make breakfast for my mom. She deserved it. she's been through so much. I got the supplies and quickly made eggs, sausage links, and toast, my moms favorite.
I ate quickly and cleaned the table. I gave my mom a quick kiss on her forehead before grabbing my keys and dashing out the door. I left early so I could drive slowly. I've been rushing for the past 2 weeks. I just want to take it slow.
I arrived at Sean's house about 12 minutes later. I was a little early, but that was fine. I honked the horn and waited. He came out the front door 2 minutes later.
"Hey," I greeted him with a smile on my face.
"Hey?" he replied, "What's got you so happy this morning?"
"Shaynaa's coming home," I said, driving away.
He stared at me with his mouth hanging wide open.
"Dude, close your mouth."
He looked away for a few seconds before he started asking questions.
"How long is she staying? How is she? Is she fully recovered? How long has it been? A year? Where-" He bombarded me with questions before I cut him off.
"Man, calm down. I just found out this morning. I know her and Kyle are staying for 3 weeks. The doctors said she can travel as long as someone is with her the whole time, so I guess she is good. I haven't talked to her since she left and yes, it was a year ago." I replied.
We arrived at school and I was surrounded by people. Sean flagged them off, knowing I wouldn't want a mob of people to ruin my mood. He knew me so well, sometimes I actually wonder if we were separated at birth. Thanks, I mouthed to him. He nodded back to me in response.
I heard footsteps running towrds me and tried to turn around. I was too late. Alyssa and I tumbled to the ground with her on top, laughing uncontrollably. I pushed her off of me and got up, brushing myself off. I left for class without her.
When i got there, Tyler wasn't there. I sat in my seat as Alyssa walked in, glaring at me as she made her way to her seat. We talked for a few minutes, until I turned around to look for Tyler.
"Holy Shit!" I yelled, surprised by seeing him sitting directly in the seat in front of me. "When did you get there?!"
He turned around to me with an amused smile on his lips. He glanced down at his watch.
"Hm. Lets see. I got here about... 20 seconds ago." His smile grew wider. I felt myself blush at his smile. It was so perfect. He was so perfect.
The bell rang to start class and my day went on as normal, except for the fact that I had a little lost puppy dog following me. Tyler stopped me as I took my seat in 7th hour.
"Hey," he said, a warm smile on his face.
"Hi," I replied, smiling back.
"Did you get my text this morning?" His smile grew wide.
"That was you?! Why didn't you reply?" I practically yelled at him.
He chuckled.
"So I could see you do this."
"How'd you get my number anyways? Are you stalking me or something?" I asked.
"No," he said quickly. "Alyssa gave it to me and said we might have a lot in common."
I growled.
"Explains why she was acting weird earlier." I mumbled under my breath.
"Huh?"
"Nothing," I said, not wanting him to ask more questions.
Class ended quicker then I expected it to and before I knew it, I was home.
I got a text from Tyler. Hi Jordan(:
Hello Tyler, I replied, remembering our conversation from earlier.
We had a long conversation and I realized Alyssa was right. We had a lot in common. I began to wonder what it would be like to be with him. I snapped myself out of it. I have never had a crush on anyone and now i'm thinking about dating Tyler? What is wrong with me? I haven't even known the guy for a week. I fell asleep even though it was only 5 p.m. i knew I wouldn't sleep long. My sleep doesn't work well with the sun.
