"Okay, everyone stay in line. When it's your turn, just introduce yourself and answer a few questions. Then you'll pose for a picture and you can leave. If we want you, we'll call you. Don't call us, we'll call you."

The guy, who introduced himself as Dillon Rupp, ordered everyone in line to do as he said before heading back into audition room.

Me, Ava, and about 40 other girls stood impatiently in the main room. Girls were adjusting their tops, staring at themselves in compact mirrors, and fussing about their appearances.

"How do I look?"

Ava did a small spin. Her dark brown hair was in loose waves framing her face, and she wore no makeup except for mascara and mastered the perfect 'I'm not trying' look with a fitted black t-shirt and skinny jeans.

"Perfect."

I sighed, knowing that if one of us were to get picked, it would definitely be her. I definitely don't think I'm ugly or anything, but next to Ava there's no comparison. I'm barely 5'4 and look like a child next to her 5'10 frame. My blonde hair was straight and parted down the middle and I couldn't decide if it made me look like Gigi Hadid or like I just had a really big forehead. I had my usual winged eyeliner on and ripped jeans and a grey tank top with my Adidas superstars that I always wear.

"You look hot, let me tell you." Ava smiled and told me to adjust my nose ring.

I had been nervously fiddling with it all morning.

"So I looked into the rappers for this music video and they are H-O-T hot."

Ava pulled out her phone and swiped through a few pictures.

"Ooh, he's cute!"

I pointed at one of the guys.

"I think his name's Nate." Ava squinted. "I think Sammy's the best looking."

I nodded, now more nervous than ever once I knew who would be in that room, picking us.

The line moved faster than I thought, and in about half an hour it was our turn. Ava went in first and I wished her good luck. My heart felt like it was about to beat out of my chest and I was definitely stress sweating.

"Next!" Dill shouted from the next room.

I let out a deep breath I didn't even know I was holding in and opened the door.

The room was smaller than I thought with a table pushed against the back wall with five guys sitting behind it. I recognized Nate and Sammy and Dillon from before but I had no clue who the other two were.

"Hey." Sammy smiled. "So what's your name?"

"James Moore." I squeaked out.

"James?" Nate looked up from his phone and my body literally felt like it caught on fire when we made eye contact. "Interesting name for a girl."

"Yeah, my parents thought I was going to be a boy and then when I was born, they were already really set on the name so James it was."

"I like it." He smirked.

"Okay, so have you ever been in a music video before or anything like this?" Dillon asked.

"Nope."

"Okay, so you'd be in the background with 5 other girls just dancing and looking good. As long as you can move and come looking like that we shouldn't have a problem." Dillon ran his fingers through his hair.

"Sounds good." I managed to get out, trying to stare at him and not Nate.

"You definitely have the look that we're going for." One of the guys nodded his head. "Like an edgy girl next door vibe."

"Yeah, we'll be in touch." Dillon took my information down on a piece of paper.

"Okay, thanks." I smiled and started walking towards the door to the exit the room.

"We want her, right?" I heard Dillon ask, clearly not meant for me to here.

"I vote yes." I heard Nate rasp.

I closed the door and smiled.
