Clay dragged the limp, unconscious Starflight out of the ash and fire. The fire scorched Clay, but the burn healed over thanks to his fireproof scales.Starflight groaned."Starflight!"yelled Sunny,Glory,Fatespeaker, and Tsunami in unison."We should probably give him sleeping darts," Glory said."It's going to hurt a lot when he wakes up."The Rainwing healers put a sleeping dart into his neck and eventually,Starflight's groaning stopped. All of a sudden.Fatespeaker lunged forwards and grabbed Sunny while no one was watching."Hey," Sunny said, with a hint of fear in her voice."Shh," Fatespeaker said.Quietly,Sunny replied,"What was that for?""We have to look after Starflight."Fatespeaker said, emphasizing the word have."You're right.Starflight does need us to look after him, especially if he's perminatly blind." They both nodded then silently slipped back towards the unconscious Starflight. His breathing was a little raspy, but the burns on his sides were awful. One of his wing tips was completely singed and the other, burnt clean off.Fatespeaker touched Starflight's tail tentatively, then winced as she felt the rough, burnt scales. The Rainwing healers looked puzzled, and whispered for a while, then two of them went off and came back with wet leaves that they wrapped around Starflight's burns.Sunny yawned, then nodded to Fatespeaker and went off to lie down in a patch of sunlight. The Rainwing healers nodded contently, then sent off three more healers to get bigger leaves to cover the burns on his side. Sunny drifted off to sleep, and soon, the healers made a vine and leaf hammock between the trees, then lifted Starflight into them."Sunny..." Starflight mumbled. The Rainwing healers looked alarmed at first, then went to grab some more sleeping darts. One of the healers came back and put a sleeping dart in his neck.Starflight's mumbling stopped, and it faded into the even rasps of his breathing.Sunny felt a pang of sympathy for Starflight. He didn't know what was happening,Sunny thought. He was just-Sunny swallowed.Trying to keep me safe.Oh Starflight. She looked at him, guilt and sympathy running through her.Its my fault.I should've been here to protect him and get him out of the way.Sunny thought. But you weren't.And now he is here.Hurt.Blind.She got up suddenly and walked silently over to Starflight. She wrapped her wings around him and laid down next to him.His shivering and raspy breathing stopped, his breathing evened out,and he finally relaxed. He settled into the warmth and went into a deeper sleep, one without dreams.Sunny smiled, and feeling content, she too, fell asleep. She woke up the next morning still next to Starflight, except the forest was buzzing, asking and panicking. She finally saw what everyone was talking about. All the Nightwings were in the rainforest. Its was chaos. The Nightwings were all refusing to eat the fruit, and some of them looked very tempted to eat the baby Rainwings.Oh dear. All the Rainwings were too curious. They came up to Starflight and poked him. They peered at his tail curiously. They sat on him. They healers shooed them away but not before Starflight woke up.He moaned and then stood up shaking. He wobbled, then fell out of the hammock, knocking Sunny down as well.He groaned again, and Sunny rushed over to help him up."W-why can't I s-see?"Starflight stammered. He reached up and gently touched the white cloth tied around his head."You're blind" said one of the Rainwing healers."For good.""WHAT!?" Starflight shouted.Tsunami,Clay, and Glory all walked towards Starflight and Sunny."We've all come to a decision." Said Clay."Now we need to know what you think we should do.Leave.Or stay.We all say leave and Glory says she'll give the throne to Granduer." "My grandmother."Glory explained.Sunny whispered with Starflight for a minute, then they both nodded."Leave." Said Sunny."Alright it's decided." Tsunami said."We leave the Rainforest tomorrow."
