I gave a quick glance his way and gave a small sigh. I didn't want to do this whole "getting to know each other" thing all over again. It would be so much easier if the passed just smacked him in the head and we could just start back from where left off.
But since that was never going to happen anytime soon, I guess getting to know each other all over again is the only way. So I looked over to him and said with a small smile, "I'm Tiffany."
He returned that smile, showing all white teeth. "What do you like," he glanced at me, then back on the road.
"Honestly, not much. I like... Umm, food, I guess. Pizza is forever." He gave a small chuckle in his answer and it almost made me feel normal again. The way he carelessly drove, not thinking about what I think of him. His shoulders where so relaxed, shrugged back and intense. He laughed in a way that wasn't, fake. His lips pulled up, not to far as to be to considerably fake, but not to less to be defined as utterly uninterested. It was genuine; again, almost enough to make me fell normal again. Almost.
I pulled up uncomfortably in my chair, shuffling around with the seat trying to get comfortable. Noticing my discomfort, Brandon looked back over to me and asked about my time away. I guess he actually noticed my absence when I left that month. That thought lead me to think about the even that happened before to lead to me leaving.
I feel so dumb. I wonder what Brandon must think of me now. An Idiot? Obsessed? Mental? I shouldn't have let my anger get the best of me. Maybe Tiffany didn't tell him that it was me that trashed the place. Well, regardless, he still knows that I broke in to their home in an attempt to place a dumb letter in his room.
As I sit there, I start to think of the wreck all over again. This time, though, it wasn't as bad as it was before. It was just a quick thought that left just as quickly as it came. But it was still there though, even if it was there for a few seconds, my heart still pounded and my breathing still hitched.
I guess he noticed my sudden heavy breathing. "So, Tiffany, tell me, how was I before, ya know, the crash everyone keeps telling me about," he said, trying to ease the tension and calm me down.
"Oh, well you were, different before," I said. "We were in a relationship before. That's why I did what I did. I was hoping you would remember. But... I guess not." From the side of my eye, I saw him shake his head as if he's thinking that it ms a bunch of bull, but he doesn't say more on the matter.
Even, we came upon a bar and he drove up to the parking space and parked. After he got out, he walked over to my side and tugged the door opened for me, a bit too eager for my taste though.
"Um," I said. "I thought you said we where going out to eat."
"I did, and here we are."
"But this is a bar." He took my hand and began walking towards the door.
"You do realize that there is food in a bar too." He practically rolled his eyes.
"But, but it's early in the morning." He sighed at my reason.
"It's never to early for a drink," with that he smirked and walked through the doors, dragging me along with him. When I walked in the heavy smell of whisky and drunks filed my noes. Brandon waltz in and sat on the bar stool from and center.
"Brandon, again? That's about the third time this week. The usual I guess," the bartender went on.
"You know it," Brandon responded. The bartender walked to the back of the room and pulled out a type of liquor and nachos and handed it to him.
"Some for the lady too?"
Brandon looked at me with a questionable look and then back at the guy and said, "yeah, bring her some." Then the bartender poured this unknown liquid in a glass and handed it to me.
"Here you go gorgeous." I looked at him and gave a awkward smile before taking the glass, but the glass never made it to my mouth.
"Arnt you gonna drink it," Brandon asked, practically slurping the whole drink down.
I looked down at the drink in my hand, and then back up to him and sighed. Well if her likes it, I guess it should be good enough to to drink it. "I guess it'll be good," I said and then took a chug. As soon as the liquid hit my tongue, my mouth filed with electricity and the taste sparked my taste buds. "Oh my gosh," I said. "Ohh, my, gosh!" I took the liquor and chugged the rest of it down and began licking around the edges.
Both of them laughed and the bartender said, "it gets the same response from just about everyone who's tried this drink for the first time."
